I've recently found out I'm pregnant and these two names are in my mind.

Shannon is a river in Ireland. Very popular about 20 years ago as a unisex name. Now dated. Celeste is a birth control pill. I say back to the drawing board I'm afraid!

KelKachoze · 21/03/2021 18:40

Shannon feels quite dated to me - very nineties and a bit trashy.

Celeste is much nicer.

Kanaloa · 21/03/2021 18:41

They’re very different from each other I think. I would probably go Celeste as I just don’t like Shannon much. I also like the heavenly/space type of feeling Celeste has.

livinlavida2021 · 21/03/2021 18:42

I like Celeste but does remind me a lot of the pill sorry

Odile13 · 21/03/2021 18:42

I like both of them. Quite unusual and not used much, but pretty.

Biscuitsneeded · 21/03/2021 18:43

Celeste by a country mile. 10 years ago naughty teenage girls were called Shannon. Celeste is classy.

Juicyoranges · 21/03/2021 18:43

I knew a Celeste and she was known as Sellotape to her friends 😂 It's a pretty name though, and I like Shannon too Smile

Murtaghjames · 21/03/2021 18:45

Shannon means possersor of wisdom and Celeste is heavanly. I know they are quite different. I never thought of Shannon until today.

Murtaghjames · 21/03/2021 18:49

To be honest Shannon was never a name I ever thought of, must be baby brain.

Juliette is lovely.
I prefer it to Shannon ( I think of that case where a mother pretended her daughter Shannon was kidnapped ).
I knew a most unpleasant Celeste.
I also knew a very nice one.

Reinventinganna · 21/03/2021 19:21

Shannon and Celeste are two complete opposites to me.

Celeste- classy and elegant
Shannon- neither of the above!
Fallon - quite hippy
Juliette - a little dull but okay
Eden- not keen
Arden- sounds quite masculine
Dixie- okay as a nickname

Brunt0n · 21/03/2021 19:22

@Murtaghjames

Celeste Shannon Fallon Juliette Eden Arden Dixie
Juliet is the only name on the list I personally like
Twobirdsinatree · 21/03/2021 19:23

celeste!! I think that's a beautiful name...
Very nearly called DD that. Love it!

Noodlesnoodlesnoodles · 21/03/2021 19:24

I really dislike Shannon, sounds a bit cheap to me. Celeste is pretty. I actually used the Celeste pills for years and never made the connection, so I wouldn't worry about that. If you're after heavenly type names, I like Selena, Serena, Seren (Welsh for star), Lyra, Phoebe. Juliette is lovely.

whattodo2019 · 21/03/2021 19:25

Sorry, but I don't like either names at all.

Murtaghjames · 21/03/2021 19:25

Seren is lovely

Murtaghjames · 21/03/2021 19:26
