DH came on here a while ago asking for advice for DD. Think we've settled between these two just can't decide. Thanks for any advice ! G

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
UnderHisAye · 15/03/2021 14:49

Well that's true @notacooldad it will also be very funny when she's a stroppy teenager.

AdaColeman · 15/03/2021 14:56

If you decide against Harmonica, perhaps you could use Euphonium even though it's more a boy's name.

unchienandalusia · 15/03/2021 14:58

Harmonica is cruel. Harmony sounds like a porn star name.

Only musical instrument that works as a name is, of course, Viola. HTH.

RusholmeRuffian · 15/03/2021 15:03

Harmony is a sex shop on Oxford Street. It's a terrible name. Harmonica is downright bonkers.

EssentialHummus · 15/03/2021 15:03

I don’t think Harmony would make me so much as raise an eyebrow tbh, I think it’s fine.

Misbeehived · 15/03/2021 15:53

I know an adult Harmony who has PhD from Oxford is a senior manager in her chosen field, married with 3 children and has never worked in porn or stripping. Hmm

When I first met her I thought it was a very pretty name.

TeenyTinyDustinHoffman · 15/03/2021 16:00

Harmony's nice enough.

Harmonica is a musical instrument.
In Superstore (on Netflix) a baby is named Harmonica. And that is meant as a joke for viewers to laugh at. Like Spudulika.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 15/03/2021 16:07

I know a little girl called Harmonie but it's double barrelled with another name

Mysterian · 15/03/2021 17:28

(In northern accent.)

A new kid in the neighbourhood once asked me why everybody was blowing in a particular little girl's ear. I said "That's our Monica".

Twisique · 15/03/2021 18:40

Harmony could have a sibling called Melody! I like it OP!

EggysMom · 15/03/2021 19:09

@Twisique

Harmony could have a sibling called Melody! I like it OP!
And an unplanned brother called Rhythm?
ToastyFingers · 15/03/2021 20:29

Harmony is nice enough. I'm not sure on Harmonica, how about Viola or Piccolo?

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 15/03/2021 21:59

@ramidad123

Harmony is a real consideration. harmonica is DH thinking he's funny
Really glad for that! Although Viola is a gorgeous and real (Shakespearean) name, but which is also a musical instrument if you wanted that association?

I also prefer musical related Allegra and Aria, over Harmony personally (especially since the Harmony on "Buffy" got called "Harm" as a nn, which isn't pleasant).

imalmostthere · 15/03/2021 22:03

I can only see harmony from buffy. Who as pp said, everyone called "harm".

jellybeanteaparty · 15/03/2021 23:35

Alternatively how about Jazz

Mysterian · 15/03/2021 23:40

How about keeping Harmony for the second name and calling her Rachael?

NuclearDH · 15/03/2021 23:42

How about Hermione?

moanieleminx · 15/03/2021 23:50

Harmonica is an instrument and harmony is just a terrible name (IMO)

YNK · 15/03/2021 23:52

Just go with Monica - and don't ever tell her it's short for Mouth Organ!

Chocaholic9 · 16/03/2021 00:52

Please don't call your kid harmonica. Absolutely awful name and she'll be horribly teased.

AnotherSunrise · 16/03/2021 01:03

Harmonica! It's a musical instrument

AnotherSunrise · 16/03/2021 01:07

Sousaphone?

tolerable · 16/03/2021 01:28

tremalo octavia kazoo
harmony acapella
symphony bandstand.

LineRunner · 16/03/2021 01:38

I thought of Captain Scarlet, tbh.

Harmony Angel.

Also:

Rhapsody Angel
Destiny Angel
Symphony Angel
Melody Angel

Or maybe just Angel. Or Scarlet. Or Mysteron.

Seriouslymole · 16/03/2021 11:28

DD has a lovely friend called Harmony. She's a delightful child and they have been friends for years but still, every.single.time she says her name - which is fairly often - I still sing the bloody Peppa Pig song in my head.
