Hey

I have really really struggled to get this shortlist together but these are my final 6 names to choose between for a girl! Please no more name suggestions as I have been so confused so just want to pick one now.

Please vote for your favourite if you would like. Exhausted from looking!!!

Esme Amelia

MooseBreath · 13/03/2021 12:18

Dahlia Pearl is lovely and flows nicely. I'm not keen on the others, but obviously my opinion is just that!

GoryGilmore · 13/03/2021 12:19

Esme Amelia. Really not keen on the others, sorry.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 13/03/2021 12:27

I like the flow of Dahlia Pearl. However I don't like Dahlia as a first name.
Xanthe is pretty. Karen seems a bit of a random middle name and has a total different vibe to Xanthe.
Esme Amelia (Esmay) (dont like Esmee). Also Esme is Scottish for Amy to which Amelia is very similar to.
Margot Emmeline is yoo M heavy
Ailsa Renee. I like it if its pronounced Renay rather Reeneey. By far the best combination.
I adore the Names Romilly and Eden but together they're too E heavy.
I know you dont more suggestions, but I think they'd sound better switched around Eden Romilly.
Other better combinations. Im not adding any more names merely switching some around.
Xanthe Renee
Eden Pearl
Dahlia Renee
Romilly Pearl
Margot Pearl
Xanthe Pearl.
Do you like any of your middle names as first names?
Eg
Amelia Renee
Margot Renee

Hi guys

Thanks all. Karen was my late mothers name which was put in to one of them but its not a necessity to use it, I just tried with one.

I'll have to look at the ones that have been jumbled and see whether any work better. Its a good start with playing around with them.

In that case I’d choose Xanthe Karen or Romilly Karen - both gorgeous! It’s lovely to honour your Mum with the middle spot so I’d do that and just choose whichever first name you really love the most. Good luck choosing!

Starsandglitter · 13/03/2021 13:25

I love Romilly! It was on my list for baby 2 but he was a boy. Cute nickname potential of Romy too. I think I’d choose Romilly Pearl though. Beautiful x

Synchrony · 13/03/2021 14:43

Dahlia Pearl. But why not decide once you see her?

Ithinkhedidit · 13/03/2021 14:47

I vote for Emmeline. I like Xanthe too, so that's my runner up choice.

user1493494961 · 13/03/2021 14:50

Esme Amelia, although I'm a bit puzzled by all the different middle names, just go with Karen to honour your Mum or add Karen as an extra name.

NoSquirrels · 13/03/2021 14:51

Use Karen as the middle name (I always think honouring family names is lovely for middle names) and as a PP says, pick one or two favourites for first names and see what she looks like when she arrives.

I like a lot of your names, but not dead keen on any of your combinations.

If it were me I’d go Emmeline Karen.

Spied · 13/03/2021 14:55

Emmeline Pearl

Chunkymenrock · 13/03/2021 15:11

Xanthe or Eden are gorgeous names. Amelia is absolutely terrible, it means 'absence of limbs' and all I hear is the ugly 'mealy' noise in it. I'm afraid Margot is almost as bad, as it looks like maggot and is the name of a 75 year old. (Just in case that may help you to slim down the list a bit?)

Caneloalvarez · 13/03/2021 15:12

Romilly Eden is my fave! This could still be a nice tribute to your mum as Eden means paradise. Whether you're religious or not it's nice to think that's where our loved ones are. Karen is still lovely as a middle name too if you wanted to go for it. Wishing you all the best!

NannyR · 13/03/2021 15:16

I like Romilly Eden best, also love Eden and Emmeline as first name options.

BackforGood · 13/03/2021 15:17

Middle names aren't really used, so, looking at the first names, the only one I like is Margot.

(though I do quite like Emmeline and Amelia from your list of 12 names)

elliemara · 13/03/2021 15:19

Love Dahlia Pearl 😍

Second would be Ailsa Renee

The others are lovely too, except Margot I don't think is as nice as the others!

TempsPerdu · 13/03/2021 15:23

Xanthe is a beautiful name, but I don’t like it with Karen. If I could mix and match, Xanthe Pearl would be my choice, and I’d also consider Emmeline as a first name.

daisypond · 13/03/2021 15:25

I’m a bit confused by all the different middle names too. If you want Karen for your mum, then it should be Karen for all.

I like all your first names, except Esme. It’s too bland and wet.

Pepper54 · 13/03/2021 15:25

Romilly

Lightningrain · 13/03/2021 15:28

My favourite is Alisa Renee but I also like Romilly Eden.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 13/03/2021 15:30

What about Xanthe Esme?

Elambert83 · 13/03/2021 16:25

I never knew the meaning of Amelia. Not the loveliest is it

@Synchrony

Dahlia Pearl. But why not decide once you see her?
I probably will decide when I see her but I think its useful to hear people's thoughts. I came up with a name before this post and so glad I aired it as I missed something that really would have been not great.
