Please help! Had a name picked out for a few weeks (baby is due next month!) but finding girl names really hard and having a middle of the night wobble and Google of other options.

Which is nicest?

Alice
Bryony
Eliza/Elizabeth?
Emily

Alice was the front runner- not sure why having a wobble!

Elizabeth/Eliza is my favourite.

Treehops · 28/02/2021 08:20

Bryony. If you want to find more, try typing it into the Nameberry name generator. Some results will be batty bonkers but it can lead you on a track to something you like.

Maybemay123 · 28/02/2021 08:25

I like them all except bryony.
My favourites are Emily and Alice. Alice seems really popular on here of late if that is an issue.
I'd go for Emily Elizabeth or Alice Elizabeth.

AlwaysLatte · 28/02/2021 08:29

Elizabeth!

Chunkymenrock · 28/02/2021 08:29

100% Bryony! All the others v common/boring/wet. Bryony is elegant and gorgeous.

TeeBee · 28/02/2021 08:36

Alice is gorgeous. One of those names that weathers well. Perfect for a baby, and an old lady.

emmie841 · 28/02/2021 08:45

Alice is beautiful 😍

PaleFox · 28/02/2021 08:46

Elizabeth is my favourite, then Alice.

Brownteddybear · 28/02/2021 08:50

Elizabeth Smile

16purplecolour16 · 28/02/2021 08:52

I’m Elizabeth- named after my grandmother and so it has never occurred to me in all of my 58 years any royal association. It’s mine, all mine. I love my name. Love love love! And yes, during the teenage years when I was looking for every way to ‘find myself’, I experimented with all the derivatives. Loved my name even more!

leggingsandwellies · 28/02/2021 09:17

Thanks all for your input so far- really appreciate it!

It's looking like Alice and Bryony are the front runners so far, with Bryony being a bit more marmite.

I'd also noticed a bit of a surge in popularity with Alice on these boards recently- I wonder why!

All nice names - why not wait until she’s born and see which suits her best?

FelicityPike · 28/02/2021 09:26

They’re all lovely names.
Sorry

Snowymcsnowsony · 28/02/2021 09:27

From your list Eliza. Not sure I would risk my dd getting called Brian....

Happenchance · 28/02/2021 09:30

Bryony followed by Eliza/Elizabeth

RuthW · 28/02/2021 09:30

Elizabeth by a mile

TheVanguardSix · 28/02/2021 09:31

Elizabeth with Eliza as the NN.

Sunnyday321 · 28/02/2021 09:34

Alice x 100

Arrierttyclock · 28/02/2021 10:16

Alice or Eliza

MindGrapes · 28/02/2021 10:19

Emily or Alice.
I'm afraid Bryony sounds like "brian-y" to me

Chilldonaldchill · 28/02/2021 10:20

I like Alice and Eliza best from your list.
I don't love Emily - it's inoffensive but just a bit meh for me.
I dislike Bryony personally - probably because I've known some really awful Brians..

greendress789 · 28/02/2021 10:20

Eliza

GirlLovesWorld · 28/02/2021 10:21

Eliza then Alice

ISBN111 · 28/02/2021 10:24

You know when you say ‘last minute wobble’? I thought you meant you had an appointment to register the birth tomorrow!!!!
You have chosen some lovely names. Why not wait to meet her to see which one she might suit before making a final choice?
It is NOT the last minute, you have time, and a lovely opportunity to decide once you have her in your arms.
Good luck!

ellenpartridge · 28/02/2021 10:24

Alice then Emily. Elizabeth also quite nice, not so keen on Bryony.
