I like both of them but Rose just tips it for me.

Rose

Rose

I think you can't go wrong, but my personal favourite is Rose. I think it's elegant, beautiful and sophisticated but you also have the NN Rosie which has a sweeter feel. I've thought about Lily for my DD but I don't think it is quite as lovely.

Rose

I like both, but if I had to choose one it would be Rose. It's common as a middle name, but you don't often see it used as a first name.

Rose

Rose is lovely, and also works for a grown up. Lily is just a bit wet.

Justcashnosweets · 25/02/2021 08:19

I like them both, but I've always loved the name Lilly.

Chunkymenrock · 25/02/2021 08:27

Rose as a first name. Not a middle name.

Mysa74 · 25/02/2021 08:41

Rose

KirstenBlest · 25/02/2021 08:44

Lily but of the two I'd pick Rose because I don't like Lil.

mamablondie33 · 25/02/2021 08:45

Lily!

I think because Rose is so popular as a middle name right now I just cannot see it as a first name. I like Rosie though!

Generally I think Lily is nicer.

VenusClapTrap · 25/02/2021 09:02

Rose

BallsToYouSue · 25/02/2021 10:47

Rose. I find it more classic for some reason. Lily feels like a modern name, as it had a big peak a while ago.

Also, there are so many L names around now. Lola, Layla, Lilah, Lyra, Elara, Elora...they all start to sound like variations of the same thing.

Ellmau · 25/02/2021 10:49

Rose. Lovely name and lovely flower.

Purplesparkle34 · 25/02/2021 10:54

I like Rose. Also, Rosie is really nice.

Really love both. Not helpful sorry

Lily

cingolimama · 25/02/2021 12:48

They’re both gorgeous, but I would go for Lily.

ILoveStickers · 25/02/2021 13:58

Rose for me. It's been in use for much longer (long before the Victorian trend for flower names), so it feels more classic.

There's also a Saint Rosa, the earliest Catholic Saint born in the New World.

Firebird83 · 25/02/2021 18:37

Rose, definitely.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 25/02/2021 18:46

Rose. While Lily is very pretty, Rose sounds slightly more classic of the two, as well as being much less popular as a first name (so more timeless).

ItsJackieWeaverBitch · 25/02/2021 20:31

Love both prefer Lily but only slightly more. Lily is apparently very popular but I know more girls/women called Rose than Lilys.
