Middle name for Forest?

Says it all in the title really.

I have an idea of what I'd like to go for but I want to make sure I've looked at all options before locking a middle name in. I would love to hear some other people's suggestions please.

It's for a little boy :)

Thank you!

@barkypup

I think Forest is a cool name. Agree the middle name doesn't need to go but something ordinary like james or Joshua.

Also - Forrest Gump was released in 1994. Almost 30 years ago. I wouldn't worry too much about the connection. Forrest Whittaker doesn't make me think 'gump'

Star Wars was a 70’s film. People still know who Luke Skywalker was.

I think you’re being utterly naive if you think Forest won’t automatically lead to Gump for at least another generation.

@Rasclut ..thank you for enlightening me and actually the more I say it, the more I like it..it's actually a pretty cool name x

Rasclut · 15/02/2021 22:29

I like nature names too! Tiger, Rainbow, Raven, Claw, Rock, Earth, Storm, Beau, Nature, Stallion?

Stallion? You would call a child Stallion?
RedcurrantPuff · 15/02/2021 22:30

Albert
Christopher
James
William
John

Whatever middle name you choose, make sure its an actual name so the poor kid can use it instead when he is fed up of being made fun of.

mamah2019 · 15/02/2021 22:31

@StressedTired ohh good tip with the surname I'll remember that one!
Also yup... totally agree on the advice situation haha. I mean some people have been super lovely and helpful so I'm grateful for that x

I think Forest is going to be a millstone round this child's neck and that it would be wise to reconsider. But I doubt whether you will.

Mischance · 15/02/2021 22:32

My post is intended to be helpful, by the way. Posts that disagree with you are not necessarily unhelpful.

GreenClock · 15/02/2021 22:32

I prefer it spelt with two Rs and i would go for Forrest Alexander.

ktp100 · 15/02/2021 22:32

@mamah2019

Fully aware of the Gump association. It's boring, anyone else have any suggestions haha?
You're gonna get this left, right and centre once the kid arrives - I'd come up with a more gracious retort than 'BORING!' if I were you!
udnertheradar · 15/02/2021 22:32

It's a lovely name. I immediately thought John

fluffythedragonslayer · 15/02/2021 22:32

Forest Alexander is perfect. I love it OP

douliket · 15/02/2021 22:33

mamah2019 · 15/02/2021 22:33

@Rasclut

If people don't laugh at Daisy, I can't see why they would laugh at Forest? I don't know if I would go classic, like, Forest James, Forest Michael, Forest David. Or I maybe I would stick with the nature theme, like Forest Kestrel, Forest Oakley, Forest Robin, Forest Rowan, Forest Sunshine, Forest Wolf.

I think Forest Rowan is my favourite.

Forest Rowan is absolutely lovely! Really love that!

We’ve got a boring standard popular name for our DS (Alfie) but he honestly couldn’t be anything else, he suits it down the the ground! If you love it OP, and it’s suiting him, just go for it

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 15/02/2021 22:34

Why do people saddle their children with absurd names like this then get the hump when people point out the inevitable comparisons.
Your child will not thank you for this name and will probably call himself Dave all his life to try and fit in.
Its only by luck my uncle spotted my son's initials would have spelt spam so I changed that double quick.

mamah2019 · 15/02/2021 22:34

@ReggieKrait thank you! We've gone for 1 R because it separates it from the Forrest Gump/ KKK side to things and I also didn't like how it looked like for rest with 2 R's but at least he can say 'like a literal Forest' if he's asked how to spell it haha xx

Football???...Sherwood???

fataroundthemiddle · 15/02/2021 22:37

Nottingham???

Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst · 15/02/2021 22:37

@Shehasadiamondinthesky

I could not agree more

Forest is a ridiculous name

My daughter can't hoke from nursery afew years back telling game there was a boy called fox 🦊 but he didn't have a tail and that's another example of something equally as stupid

These children grow to be adults and will be entering he world of work and it's going to be hard enough without being saddled with a stupid name

ReggieKrait · 15/02/2021 22:38

It’s not absurd at all, it’s a legitimate name. I really can’t understand all the hatred for it. Just because it’s rare doesn’t make it ridiculous.

Hope4theBestPlan4theWorst · 15/02/2021 22:38
  • came home from Nursery
glugg · 15/02/2021 22:39

Woody?

WineTheBobbin · 15/02/2021 22:39

I like it. It's not what I would chose myself as a first name but I still like it.

I really like forest jay previously suggested. I also like rowan (Irish for red headed according to Google) my suggestions are
Forest Montgomery
Forest Ronan
Forest Christopher
Forest and then the father's first name as a middle name
