Middle name for Forest?

Says it all in the title really.

I have an idea of what I'd like to go for but I want to make sure I've looked at all options before locking a middle name in. I would love to hear some other people's suggestions please.

It's for a little boy :)

Thank you!

Beau? Fits quite nicely in my mind!

Penny2020 · 19/02/2021 15:25

@mamah2019 just to share an alternative view, I read Forest and thought that was a lovely name for a little boy and didn’t think of any of the Gump or other connotations. I think it’s cute but it’s ‘out there’ so I suppose you’ll have to be prepared for the comments but I have a friend with a baby called Fox - first time you hear it everyone makes a rude comment but now he really suits it and after the initial jokes it’s very cute and just normal. So don’t be completely put off!!!

Taliasometimes · 19/02/2021 15:33

Forest is a beautiful name.

in the same vein as River, Raine, Summer etc

There's a lot weirder or uglier that seem to be common nowadays.

The children your son go to school with will not even have SEEN Forrest Gump. And so what? Thats like saying any name that has a famous character sharing it, cant be used!

clpsmum · 19/02/2021 15:51

@mamah2019 it's a gear name. So much better than the absolute boring names many on here seem to prefer. Not another Oliver/Archie/Alfie/Charlie please!

How about
Jonah
Isaac
Zach
Josh
Alexander
Louis
Donovan

clpsmum · 19/02/2021 15:52

Ps I went to school with about a dozen carries not one of them had a bucket of blood thrown over them!Wink

Octane · 19/02/2021 15:59

I'm sure there are about a trillion Olivers out there right now getting bullied on a daily basis being called Oliver Twist.

Middle names for Oliver?

How about Twist? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHSIDOAJDQNWD!!!11one

EssentialHummus · 19/02/2021 16:23

That’s exactly the point octane - there are a trillion Olivers, it’s a much more popular name, and the association gets diluted.

mamah2019 · 19/02/2021 16:35

@Octane such a good point about the Oliver's! Super duper popular, still number 1 in the U.K. and no one bats an eyelid! Xxx

There are also other famous Olivers than just Twist though e.g. off the top of my head Cromwell, Hardy, Sacks, Letwin, presumably Bonas. Whereas Forrest is literally just Gump.

And Whitaker.

But point being neither of them are negative associations. It's hardly a big stick to beat someone with.

Forrest Anthony
Forrest Zachary
Forrest Montgomery
Forrest Elijah
Forrest Benjamin
Forrest Rory
Forrest William

ConkerBonkers · 19/02/2021 21:40

Even try commission? I must try harder to think of something a bit cleverer 🙄

It is a lovely name, there are worse, and I'm sure if any other child makes a pun it can be laughed off. I really don't think many names are immune to children using them in fun with each other...

Google is your friend here if you don't want to look so ignorant.

This. How ridiculous. Oliver is a name.

Forrest is even a name.
A Forest is a collection of many hundreds of trees.

gigity · 19/02/2021 23:27

Forrest is even a name.

Yes that's what we are saying

gigity · 19/02/2021 23:27

keep up!

LittleTiger007 · 19/02/2021 23:29

So she’s going to spell it with two rs?

LittleTiger007 · 19/02/2021 23:30

If this person lives in America then say no more. No problem

Oh you're one of those....

gigity · 19/02/2021 23:33

Is there a list of countries that names are allowed to be from if you live in the UK? What about Indian or African names are they ok to be used here?

EdgeOfACoin · 20/02/2021 06:37

I'm not sure I see the negative connection with Forrest Gump. Forrest is a nice character who is loyal to his friends and overcomes adversity to do well in life.

Someone on here was asking for opinions on Lolita the other day - now that name, I think, is unusable.

Nature names are rising in popularity. I would put Forest firmly in the category alongside Hunter, Roman, Archer and River etc. It's not to everyone's taste but I'm surprised at the level of vitriol directed against it.

Forest Sebastian
Forest Elijah
Forest Nathaniel
Forest Andrew

ShulamithFirestone · 20/02/2021 08:31

No matter what middle name you out with it, it's always going to sound like a National Trust car park, let's be frank.

Forrest Orlando
Forrest Arthur
