Middle name for Forest?

mamah2019 · 15/02/2021 21:28

Says it all in the title really.

I have an idea of what I'd like to go for but I want to make sure I've looked at all options before locking a middle name in. I would love to hear some other people's suggestions please.

It's for a little boy :)

Thank you!

Ok so not a massive fan but I will concede that I have heard worse.

But....Forest Alexander just sounds like a football team to me.

If you are married to it then I would got for a short name like (as has been suggested) James or Jack. But tbh as an East Midlander, Forest will always sound footbally to me and I am not a fan!

HighNetGirth · 16/02/2021 02:33

I have tested my pre-teen children on names. They wouldn't turn a hair at Forest/Forrest. They do, on the other hand, grimace or howl with laughter at the normal names for my generation: names like Paul, Simon, Mark, Andrew, Nigel, Richard, Robert, etc. (David and John were grudgingly declared acceptable.)

So fear not, OP. Forest away. Alexander is the best middle name.

LovePoppy · 16/02/2021 02:33

I like Evan

FlyingByTheSeatof · 16/02/2021 02:48

Most DC havent watched and are not interested in watching Forest Gump so won't associate it with the name Forest like we would.

Most DC however will think it's a stupid name even if they're too polite to say so to his face, they will however take the piss behind his back.

Bilgepumper · 16/02/2021 03:02

Poor kid! Parents have a great responsibility when naming their child, please choose a sensible name.

IckleBear · 16/02/2021 03:05

Is it not spelt Forrest as a name?

Forrest Luca
Forrest Quinn
Forrest Cosmo
Forrest Ziggy

DarkChocolateMint · 16/02/2021 03:15

Wittikar ..

BasiliskStare · 16/02/2021 03:25

Ah congratulations

Although I thought "I think 'Forest followed by a colour ie 'Grey' is getting into Dulux paint colour chart territory... ) was funny " I think I am going with what seems to be the majority & ( answering the question) so I think Alexander would be a lovely middle name . My son's godfather goes by his middle name as he does not like his first name. So not only do the two names go nicely together, but I think Alexander is a fabulous name) & does give him a different choice , should he choose to , later on , whereas Forest Rain / River / etc etc would not so much. I realised how nearly I typed Alexander is a great name - ha ha . No I think that would go brilliantly and gives him an option should he choose it which is less quirky and has nns. which are not stuffy - so Alex , Xander etc

I like Hunter and that is unusual but not bizarre ( e.g. Hunter Davis probably about 80 odd now ? )

All best wishes to you and your son @mamah2019

MinnieJackson · 16/02/2021 03:25

I love the name. How many syllables is your surname?
Forest ray
Forest river
Forest Jude
Forest jimmy?

GalaxyGirl24 · 16/02/2021 03:49

Love the name Forest.

Forest Brent
Forest Geo
Forest Vermont

Ignore those who say your little one will have a hard time with an unusual name. I had an extremely unusual name growing up and never once got bullied, in fact, the only people to have ever commented on my name being 'unique/weird/different' (god forbid) were adults! I distinctly remember kids with very standard names getting daft nicknames made for them.

mathanxiety · 16/02/2021 04:14

Any kid who thinks it’s hilarious to shout “run Forrest run” more than once as a light joke is probably a right douche anyway

This ^^

Not all jokes or funny remarks about names constitute teasing, despite what some may say here.

Forest Everett
Forest Alistair
Forest Archer
Forest Griffin
Forest Austin
Forest Cameron
Forest Emerson
Forest Wyatt
Forest Walden
Forest Ambrose
Forest Ansel
Forest Adam
Forest Maxwell
Forest Arthur
Forest Atticus
Forest Beckett
Forest Conrad
Forest Jackson
Forest Henry
Forest Finley
Forest Ivan
Forest Garrison
Forest Zachary

Maybe make it something personal to you. I.e both of my granddad died when my mum was pregnant with me. Their names were Ray and Charles so My middle name is Rachael

joystir59 · 16/02/2021 05:51

Forest Tree

Goslowlysideways · 16/02/2021 06:02

As someone who grew up with a very unusual first name - please don't. School was horrific. I've switched to my middle name now. It didn't get any better and I hated school.
James is nice or Frederick. Give forest as a middle name.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 16/02/2021 06:14

@joystir59

Forest Tree
Yawn.

That oh so "hilarious" joke has been done about twenty times already.

Terriblecreature · 16/02/2021 06:20

I am jealous OP. I really wanted to name DS2 Forest but my husband wasn't on board. I already have a Flynn and thought it would be lovely together. DS2 will be called River instead.

I am really liking Forest James as many have suggested.

Please don't listen to a lot of people on here. Unless Ur name is Oliver or Olivia then they will have something to say about it (eye roll)

sanityisamyth · 16/02/2021 06:21

@manicinsomniac

Nobody's going to bully a child for being called Forrest? It's not that unheard of.

I've known children (not plural - just one of each) called Bear, Rainbow, Blue, Summerdaisy, Summertime, Chymme and Tigerlily. I don't think any of them got bullied. People just knew them as their name. I did once meet a woman called Tree and that surprised me. I asked her if she was really Teresa or something but she said no, her parents were just hippies!

I really like it. Love the idea of Forrest Alexander. Also liked Forrest Sebastian. Part of me adored the suggestion Forrest Sunshine but I couldn't bring myself to actually go that far...

Forrest Montgomery
Forrest Nathaniel
Forrest Joachim

Chymme? As in a misspelling of stomach contents? Wow!

HankMarvinjg · 16/02/2021 06:32

Fondant

userxx · 16/02/2021 08:44

Why stop at Forest Nigel when you can have Forest Boris?

This is my favourite. Rolls off the tongue.

donquixotedelamancha · 16/02/2021 09:14

Urgh, so many posters seem to know utterly shit kids who'd bully others at the drop of a hat.

Bit presumptuous. So far we've only covered what the teachers will say.

4FoxxSake · 16/02/2021 09:25

Forest Alexander to my sounds like he's been named after football teams.
Nottingham Forest and Crewe Alexandra.

(I am a really big football Fan and it just makes me think of Football sorry)

IthinkIm · 16/02/2021 09:39

I'm a teacher and I would not choose this name. Way too much piss taking when they get older.

Forrest Gump is a classic, it's not going away.

Figarill · 16/02/2021 09:51

I work in a school, no one would bat an eyelid at Forest. However it's a big inner London academy. The baby name boards are really odd & not representative of my world but perhaps it truly is different if you don't live in a global, diverse city. I wouldn't know.

KittensTeaAndCake · 16/02/2021 09:57

Most DC however will think it's a stupid name even if they're too polite to say so to his face, they will however take the piss behind his back.

Well you know some delightful children or are you judging them by your own standards?

Posters saying don't call him Forest - he is already here and already called Forest. Op was asking for help with middle namesAngry
