Middle name for Forest?

Says it all in the title really.

I have an idea of what I'd like to go for but I want to make sure I've looked at all options before locking a middle name in. I would love to hear some other people's suggestions please.

She didn't ask for opinions on her first name choice though - she asked for suggestions of middle names to go with it.

Forest is a wonderful name! Can’t add any new suggestions for middle names, but just wanted to say what a lovely name Forest is. Unusual but not crazy or made up. Peaceful, warm and interesting.

Please don’t. He’ll get the piss taken out of him. Think of him, not of yourself.

I know the OP asked for opinions on middle names only- but Forest is a tricky beast to pair with.

The more suggestions I read, the more I conclude that it’s impossible to find a middle name for Forest that doesn’t sound like a Scottish landmark or a paint chart.

@FamilyOfAliens depends what you mean by cool kids I guess..? They're 6, 5 and 6 months .. how cool can you be at that age? Why would "coolness" even be a thing? They're both likable boys and the baby is a very likable baby.. as most children and babies are. I doubt their name matters much in what their personality is like. I named my own son James.. the most boring traditional name out there and I think he's a cool kid

I like it, and having come across some unusual names in my kids’ classes, they don’t seem to bat an eyelid at any names, there is a much wider range of names than when I was at school. I have a Sebastian who has complained he gets people singing Under the Sea at him though!

I like Forest Alexander, depending on your surname (definitely not if it starts with T!)

We gave one of our sons a less than usual name and had to put up with some raised eyebrows at the beginning. Its a perfect name for him though and I actually love shouting it out across the park amidst a sea of Olivers, Georges, Harrys and Jay-Js....

Honestly schoolkids are much less rude than anonymous women on mumsnet.

Everyone seems to think they're hilarious when they're being an anonymous dick on the internet.

Don't know why, but as soon as I saw the title I thought 'Forest Evan'. Just done a quick Google to check it's not some random celebrity in my subconscious; it isn't!

I'd go for at least 2/3 syllables for the middle name so it blances well.

Also have you considered Hunter as a first name? It was on my list.

Forest's peers wont blink at his name. Trust me. The bitchy comments will come from adults your age or older.

Its actually an on trend name. It fits in with a lot of the nature names of this new generation of the last decade or so.

I think the trick is to have a normal 'classic' as a fall back. If he hates Forest he can switch to using a second name. So play safe.

Honestly ignore the comments here. Its a nice name and people will get used to it very quickly. Few will have the balls to say it to you face in practice and his peers wobt know who the fuck Forest Gump is seeing as its a film made in 1994 - 26 years ago.

Can you reference many films made 26 years before you were born? Do they make a striking impact on your life.

Honestly ive heard some terrible names on this section. Forest is not up there by any stretch of the imagination.

more syllables in the middle sounds right. I always think you need a mix of syllables.

OP didn’t ask for opinions on the name she has chosen for her new baby. She asked for suggestions for his middle name. Congratulations, OP, on your lovely new son. I bet Forest suits him perfectly. I think it’s a nice name. Among his generation, his name certainly won’t seem outrageous, as there is such wild variety these days. Please don’t let the unkindness here tarnish your chosen name. Kids tend pick on children who they see as vulnerable; their names are irrelevant when it comes to bullying. Easy to tell from this thread why a lot of bullying still goes on, isn’t it? Plenty of kids have vile parents, I suppose.
