I know it uses to be very popular but it's barely uses now (200ish last year) yet it doesn't feel dated to me. I love the full name so much, less keen on Becky / Becca though don't hate them.

What are your thoughts?

Rebecca is lovely but I don't like Becca or Becky either.

Its a classic that has stood the test of time.

Bluesername · 12/02/2021 21:24

I really like it and think it's due a comeback. It reminds me of big houses and glamorous intrigue because of Daphne Du Maurier's book. Like you, I'm not so keen on Becky or Becca. I quite like Bec and Bex though.

Saywhatyoumeanandmeanwhatyousa · 12/02/2021 21:25

I like it

MWNA · 12/02/2021 21:25

It's my name and I love it.
I'm almost always called Bec by family and Rebecca at work.

Pandapotato · 12/02/2021 21:27

Classic & lovely

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 12/02/2021 21:28

Lovely Smile and very underused

Beyondfedupnow · 12/02/2021 21:30

It’s my name too, I used to hate it as a child but love it now. I’m known as Rebecca but family call me Reba and have done since I was tiny.

TheDuchessOfAquitaine · 12/02/2021 21:31

Lovely!

Topseyt · 12/02/2021 21:34

I love it. I think it is pretty, strong, timeless and classy.

I have a Rebecca, so I'm not biased of course. She is 22 now. It was pretty popular when she was born but I don't think it really dates much. She likes to go by the names Becky, Beck or Beck's.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 12/02/2021 21:36

I know a Rebekah who goes By Bekah. That seems more modern than Becca.

2021isalsorubbish · 12/02/2021 21:37

Classy I love it

Hotcuppatea · 12/02/2021 21:38

I have some good friends called Rebecca. They're often shortened to Bex or Becca.

sadpapercourtesan · 12/02/2021 21:40

I like Rebecca, but think Bex, Bec and Becca are awful, so I wouldn't use it.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 12/02/2021 21:47

Rebecca is nice enough, quite classic and I like the Du Maurier ref (and it doesn't feel dated to me) - but I've never met one who didn't get shortened to Becky, Becca or Bex. I dislike those nn's so I wouldn't chose Rebecca personally (but maybe Reba isn't so bad, if you could encourage that instead?)

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 12/02/2021 21:48

I know several rebecca's they all go becky, ir becks etc.
But I like names where you can use full version or several shortened versions as your dc can choose what they like

BeautifulStar · 12/02/2021 21:49

You do know Rebecca was a psycho? Only joking it’s a lovely name. I like Jessica too which is a similar vein.

Anystarinthesky · 12/02/2021 21:50

A lovely, classic name.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 12/02/2021 21:50

My ds has a name that can't be shortened yet we all lengthened it instead when he was young
Think Mike - Mikey and I picked short version so he had a name that couldn't be changed !!

MonkeyPuddle · 12/02/2021 21:51

I love it but that’s because I know three (all late 20’s to 30’s) and they’re bloody wonderful women.

Kote · 12/02/2021 21:52

I like it but really dislike the nicknames which are kind of inevitable

supadupapupascupa · 12/02/2021 22:04

Love it. It's my sisters name. She goes by becky or boo or becky-boo. It suits her very much

MillieEpple · 12/02/2021 22:07

I like it. My good friend is a Rebecca and is called by her full name or Rebs.

BrilliantBetty · 12/02/2021 22:08

Rebecca is a nice, sweet name.

As long as it's not shortened to Becka / Bex / Becky

TodaysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 12/02/2021 22:14

I have a Rebecca. Born 2006. She wasn't the only one in my anti natal class.

I call her boo or Becky. She goes by Becca on her YouTube channel and she likes to have her proper name on things like her black belt.

I think it's a very versatile name

LittleTiger007 · 12/02/2021 23:15

It’s a lovely, classic name
