Dexter or Stanley?

I'd be grateful for any opinions 😊. Thanks

Dexter is that creepy bloody TV show and Stanley make tools!!
Sorry!

grandmasterstitch · 01/02/2021 22:25

Stanley

PutOnAHappyFace · 01/02/2021 22:25

I love Stanley.

@Santaiscovidfree

Dexter is that creepy bloody TV show and Stanley make tools!! Sorry!
This. And also, Dexter seems to be quite popular as a dogs name, plus it would be all kinds of wrong if the kid turned out to be a left hander.

Stanley still seems too old fashioned and not in a good way to me. Stan? Really?Confused

babbaloushka · 01/02/2021 22:36

Stanley without a doubt

Nervousdave · 01/02/2021 22:39

I know a little dexter and a baby Stanley. Both cute names I think, and fairly unusual at the moment.

VenusClapTrap · 01/02/2021 22:45

Stanley

MyLifeNow20 · 01/02/2021 22:54

Love both but think Stanley

partyatthepalace · 01/02/2021 23:02

Stanley

Bluesername · 01/02/2021 23:02

Stanley. Not keen on surnames as first names.

ladygindiva · 01/02/2021 23:02

Love both. Marginally prefer Stanley.

BorderlineHappy · 01/02/2021 23:03

I prefer Dexter, Stanley is too old fashioned.

GinaJaffacake · 01/02/2021 23:05

Dexter, you’re either trying too hard to be hip or you’re 16.
Stanley is ok but has become more popular around here in the last 5yrs.

WellityWellityWellity · 01/02/2021 23:11

Stanley

resm · 01/02/2021 23:11

I really like Stanley! I think a wee baby Stan is cute.

Mummytobe05 · 01/02/2021 23:12

I don't watch the tv show Dexter and trust me I'm not 16 nor is there anything hip about me 😂😂😂

I just think they are both cute names. Thanks for all the comments so far

Stanley all day long!!!!

Sausagedog1 · 01/02/2021 23:35

Neither are to my taste but they are very different names in my opinion.
Dexter is cooler but harder sounding. Stanley is old manish without being cute. If I was going to go old man I would at least want it to be cute old man.
Out of the two I would probably choose Stanley.

DramaAlpaca · 01/02/2021 23:37

Stanley. I'm not over keen on it, but to be honest almost anything is better than Dexter.

Diamondella · 01/02/2021 23:38

Stanley , but I like the old names , I love Reginald, there is a little boy at my child’s Pre school and he gets called Reggie , I think it’s so cute.

Santaiscovidfree · 02/02/2021 00:01

I dare you to watch an episode op...

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 02/02/2021 04:25

Stanley

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 02/02/2021 05:33

Neither really, but if I had to chose then Dexter (Dexter feels a bit hipster for me, but Stanley is too dated and also ends in the cute ie sound which I'm usually not keen on).

If you like retro names, what about Raymond? (that has the cool nn Ray, similar to Dexter nn Dex)

Figgyboa · 02/02/2021 05:42

Neither but if I had to chose, dexter. Stanley is too old-fashioned

ILoveStickers · 02/02/2021 07:08

Stanley. I teach lots of university-age Stanleys - it works. It doesn't feel old-fashioned if you know lots of teenagers with the name!
