That's it really. Which do you prefer? No harsh comments please as these are definitely final 2 and due in 9 days.

How to you feel about nn? My dc have names with minimum to nil scope to shorten. Florence is lovely (my dgm's name!) but do you like Flo /Florrie? Elsie has less alternatives.

galaxy9 · 31/01/2021 15:10

Prefer Elsie but both lovely! Florence is pretty popular atm if that bothers you x

Emelene · 31/01/2021 15:14

I have a little Florence, rarely shortened as we love the full name so much. So I'm biased! Florence Elsie is sweet. Smile

OliveHenry · 31/01/2021 15:24

Going against the grain here but I think Elsie Florence sounds better.

Florence Elsie just seems to blur into Florenselsy.

Missingthebridegene · 31/01/2021 15:25

My daughter is called Elsie Violet and I think Elsie Florence sounds beautiful 😍 I'd never heard of the name Elsie til I saw it on one of those kids book stands when I was pregnant last year now it seems to be getting popular lol I seem to have chosen well 😀

Elsie Florence.
They are both good though.

partyatthepalace · 31/01/2021 16:45

Florence Elsie

Florence is a bit more classic. Elsie is very now so will probably date more. If you did decide to go for it as a first name, you could use Elizabeth on birth cert and call her Elsie as a nn (it is a short form of Elizabeth) to avoid that.

DramaAlpaca · 31/01/2021 16:46

Florence Elsie by a million miles.

tilder · 31/01/2021 16:47

Lovely names op.

Either way sound great. I guess drawback of Florence are nicknames, if that would bother you. Ime names get shortened by friends even if not by you. Elsie is a name in its own right, but some will ask what it's short for.

Makes me think of Floella Benjamin when together. An awesome lady so great connection!

aSofaNearYou · 31/01/2021 17:13

I would go Elsie Florence. To me, Florence is becoming one of those white noise names that is everywhere, if you know what I mean.

I think it flows better that way too.

But as ever, don't let people on here put you off either way!

Grizzlypanda · 31/01/2021 17:15

Florence Elsie

Elsie is a bit cutesy for me.

CthulhuChristmas · 31/01/2021 17:19

Florence Elsie. (Although I'm not keen on Elsie at all and would go for Florence Elise.)

Iamstrugglingtopick · 31/01/2021 17:20

Elsie Florence although I love both names

PatchworkElmer · 31/01/2021 17:23
