Tyche.. hold on, not sure how this pronounced?
I’m reading it as either Tai chi, titchy or tykey? Grin

Edenember · 21/01/2021 16:18

Ooh... or Theia.

Ijustlikedthename · 21/01/2021 19:05

My daughter is Electra. I have always loved the name (and yes I know the myth but only 1 person in real life has ever commented out loud about it!).

TheCap · 21/01/2021 19:07

Artemis

theseriousmoonlight · 21/01/2021 19:11

@RosieLemonade my first 2 choices are the same as you: Hector and Circe
I know an Artemis and love her name.
Hestia was on my list for dd2 but we ended up going with a Roman name already mentioned on here.
Dd1 has a Greek name. Not sure it's mentioned as it's not myth related though.

HandInGove · 21/01/2021 20:02

I’ve gone down the mythological names rabbit hole now- there’s so many great ones I didn’t know about before!
Nyx as others have mentioned and also Pheme, Themis

It’s my girls name of choice if DC2 is another girl. I’ve always loved it since I read it in an Enid Blyton book as a child l. DD’s name starts with a ‘D’ as well.

AdultHumanFemale · 22/01/2021 05:18

Thisbe.
Nearly used this for DC1.

smaragda · 22/01/2021 06:25

These threads always make me laugh when I see comments like .these names are uncommon or dated...none of the names mentioned here are dated or uncommon if you live in greece or Cyprus :) (except for thanatos-whicb literally means death, otherwise knock yourselves out!)

chipshopElvis · 22/01/2021 06:49

Loads of lovely names, loads of tragic connotations!

Ursula
Electra
Andromeda

princesspenny · 22/01/2021 06:55

Eleni and Leonidas

Enko · 22/01/2021 09:49

I did pick a name from Greek mythology dd1 is called Phoebe.
We considered Pandia for dd2 as we liked the brightness link but felt 2 p names was too much.

I also love Athena Persephone and Gaea

Suggested Zeus for ds but dh was on a firm no. I also like Hermes

Ijustlikedthename · 22/01/2021 10:04

@smaragda I agree, that's why I wasn't worried using one as I knew it wasn't uncommon just less common where I live. So many beautiful names and also strange that people in other countries put so much emphasis on the myth and that they could never use a beautiful name because of it!

latheritup · 22/01/2021 10:07

Athena
