Frankie or Archie

I know they’re both popular that does not put me off as they’re both family names just cannot decide which we prefer...

Frankie - Frank then is the option if he prefers when older. I also think it sounds retro but also now, whereas Archie just sounds retro to me.

MsMiaWallace · 12/01/2021 13:19

Frankie. Very cute shortened to Frank.
Not Archie coz of Megan & Harry's son.

Yennefer19 · 12/01/2021 13:20

I prefer Frankie

BadTattoosAndSmellLikeBooze · 12/01/2021 13:21

I think Archie is much nicer, not keen on Frankie at all.

AllPlayedOut · 12/01/2021 13:21

Archie. Frankie is such an ugly sounding name.

Courtney555 · 12/01/2021 13:23

Archie is nicer, and my choice had you asked this question prior to Meghan and Harry.

Now, the timing is too synonymous.

Santaiscovidfree · 12/01/2021 13:24

Francis with Frankie nn.

Februaryisnear · 12/01/2021 13:28

Not worried about the Harry and Meghan connection, it is a family name plus I do not follow the royals so that does not put me off.

Thank you though

I prefer Frankie because it can be shortened to Frank as they get older.

Not sure I can imagine a man called Archie....

Firebird83 · 12/01/2021 14:46

Frankie. Archie is a bit overdone.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 12/01/2021 17:25

Not keen on either, but of the two - Frankie because it can be shortened to Frank if he wants when he's older. Archie doesn't really give him any options if he dislikes it.

Fuebombaa · 12/01/2021 20:08

Neither, too cutesy

Sway19 · 12/01/2021 20:09

No way Archie after the faux royals have used it. Archie is way overdone anyway. Frankie shortened to Frank is so sweet!

grandmasterstitch · 12/01/2021 20:10

Frankie. Archie is really quite popular and with the exception of the lovely Archie I nanny at the moment, all the ones I've known have been little monsters which put me off the name a bit! Besides I would have to go for Archibald which isn't great

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 12/01/2021 20:10

Archie by a long long way.

misslomi · 12/01/2021 20:13

Frankie! My favourite name and my cats name. Can be shortened to Frank or could go for Francis. Lovely name!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 12/01/2021 20:22

Francis, then Frankie/Fran/Frank as diminutive. Not Archie, it was never that nice and has been horribly overdone now.

daisypond · 12/01/2021 20:53

You can’t call a kid Frankie - not as an official name. It’s terrible. Call him Francis, with Frankie for short - while he’s a baby.

MercyBodle · 13/01/2021 00:12

I love Archie, so that's my first choice. I like Frank, but just can't seem to get on board with Frankie.

LarkDescending · 13/01/2021 00:21

Archie - because although I like Frank, I don’t like Frankie.

DramaAlpaca · 13/01/2021 00:25

I'm with @daisypond, Francis on the birth certificate so he doesn't have to keep using the cutesy Frankie when he's no longer a toddler.

As for Archie, just no altogether. Horrible name.

giggly · 13/01/2021 00:26

@daisypond funnily enough I think Francis is terrible and would never call a baby’s that.
The op asked for either Archie or Frankie no need to be so rude.
Op Frankie all the way

Bluesername · 13/01/2021 00:27

Frankie

JustanotherTuesday · 13/01/2021 00:30

I know a little boy called Franklin but he's called Frankie for short. I think it's better than Archie.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 13/01/2021 00:35

Frank is lovely Francis is a classic that will never date or get over used & Archie is nice too but there are so many of them.
