What is your favourite shortened form of Elizabeth? It’s our favourite name for a girl and DH really likes Ella for short, but we also have a Samuel who we call Sam. We can’t have a “Sam ‘n’ Ella” can we?

Bess - after Elizabeth I , feminist icon and "good queen Bess". It's also very useable today imo since it's both cool retro but also a soundalike to the more popular Tess.

I knew a French Elizabeth once who was Babette for short, kinda cute!

Betsy, Bethan, Lillian, Lisa. Lissa - think most of the others have been mentioned - there are so many it’s great. Tess is also sometimes used as a short form, which I guess comes from Bess. A friend of mine was Bee.
