I like traditional and classic names and these are two of my favourites.
Grace or Alice - which should I chose?

Alice by far.

Grumpasaurus · 01/01/2021 14:00

Alice.

I have known two Grace's and they both turned out to be horrible, crazy people.

The name makes me shudder now.

Twinkie01 · 01/01/2021 14:04

Alice.

There are lots of Graces around and everyone call them Graceeeee at least with Alice it's Ali or Lissy which is far nicer.

pinkpinecone · 01/01/2021 14:06

Alice by a mile

gotyerhat · 01/01/2021 14:07

Alice for me too. Loads of Graces about. Alice is underused. Lovely, timeless, won't dare.

daisypond · 01/01/2021 14:08

I like both. Alice does seem a bit nondescript to me, though. Grace has more oomph, but it has been very popular for a number of years.

Herewegoagain4 · 01/01/2021 14:59

Alice, its on my list too X

PurBal · 01/01/2021 15:00

Grace. But I irrationally loathe the name Alice.

Therssalwaysachoice · 01/01/2021 15:00

Alice

whatausername · 01/01/2021 15:00

Alice. I always think Grace is quite an ugly sounding word, ironic given its meaning.

finallychangedmyusername · 01/01/2021 15:12

Alice is one of my all-time time favourite names, so Alice.

Grace is a good name too though IMO and it's nice to see it used in the first name spot (I find it overused as a middle name).

Mysa74 · 01/01/2021 15:16

Alice.
Far to many Gracie's around...
Alice is pretty and has adventures Grin

EnglishRose1320 · 01/01/2021 15:17

Love both but think Alice would be my top pick

BuffaloCauliflower · 01/01/2021 15:18

Alice

uncomfortablydumb53 · 01/01/2021 15:26

Alice is my favourite classic name
I had 3 DS's so never got to use it!

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/01/2021 15:27

Alice.

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 01/01/2021 15:51

I like both names Grace is quite popular I know a few but I like the name Alice and don't know any

PenguinBarnotBird · 01/01/2021 15:55

@PurBal

Grace. But I irrationally loathe the name Alice.
Snap! Can’t fathom why but the name Alice gives me the creeps
allmycats · 01/01/2021 16:01

Why not both ? Alice Grace is lovely, as is Alicia Grace.

BikeRunSki · 01/01/2021 16:08

I’m biased, because I am an Alice, but I find Grace is a very difficult name to carry off if you are not graceful. I know a few adult Graces who adopted their middle names quite young for this reason!!

OwlBasket · 01/01/2021 16:09

Alice, absolutely.

I like Grace but what if the child isn’t graceful? She might be lumpen and clumsy like me, it’s a normal way to be and I’m fine with it but I’d feel cursed if was my name Grace.

LadyWithLapdog · 01/01/2021 16:12

Both are beautiful. I’d probably go for Alice.

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 01/01/2021 16:12

Alice. Grace is a hard name to carry if you’re not Graceful.

daisypond · 01/01/2021 16:18

@Allgirlskidsanddogs

Alice. Grace is a hard name to carry if you’re not Graceful.
Grace is a “virtue” name, though, like Hope or Faith. It has nothing to do with being physically graceful.
CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/01/2021 16:20

Grace is beautiful. I think of the song who the f* is Alice with that name
