Guessing game V!

Merry twixmas! Xmas Grin

We have reached thread 5(!) of the baby names Guessing Game.

This was the (brilliant) brain child of @scotstar back in March 2018. Smile

All are welcome, rules of this game are pretty straightforward - someone describes a name. Whoever solves the clues is then in charge of describing the next name. Simple! Make the clues as fiendish or straightforward as you like. Grin

The "more often found" clue made me chuckle! 🤣

New one here:

Well-dressed and a new father with a mammoth task. He's been a leader both religiously and politically.

ThatshallotBaby · 25/08/2022 16:08

I couldn’t think how to phrase it!

Mahatma?

finallychangedmyusername · 25/08/2022 20:40

Not Mahatma, much more common/popluar.

Ellmau · 26/08/2022 01:11

Joseph?

finallychangedmyusername · 26/08/2022 07:32

Correct @Ellmau!

Well-dressed is Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The new father is Joseph, husband to Mary - raising the son of God and/or staying with a pregnant Mary whilst not being the father, could be described as mammoth tasks! (No offence to any religions/anyone religious intended here, I struggled to word this - I'm half asleep/very tired this morning!)

And the religious leader is Joseph Smith and political Josephs Stalin and Biden.

Over to you @Ellmau!

Sorry to be so long, was away with no Internet access!

Will be back with a new name later.

Ellmau · 03/09/2022 01:02

A romantic heroine of sorts.

Her lover was castrated.

finallychangedmyusername · 03/09/2022 22:06

Lorena?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 03/09/2022 23:50

No.

LadyGAgain · 04/09/2022 09:01

Nitta?

Ellmau · 04/09/2022 10:04

No.

French.

ThatshallotBaby · 04/09/2022 14:29

Heloise?

Ellmau · 04/09/2022 14:30

Yes, Heloise.

Only sort of romantic because of the questionable age thing

finallychangedmyusername · 14/09/2022 11:23

Hi @ThatshallotBaby, are you ok to provide the next clues please to the next name? Hope you're well. 😊

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 14/09/2022 14:13

Sorry, I’m ok just lots going on!

One of two sisters she is often overlooked, in favour of her listening sister

finallychangedmyusername · 15/09/2022 18:03

Margaret?

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 15/09/2022 22:27

finallychangedmyusername · 17/09/2022 17:15

Martha? I'm struggling with this one!

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 17/09/2022 17:28

Yes!!!!

finallychangedmyusername · 18/09/2022 11:51

Yay! Here's the next:

Name linking:

  • Abridged freedom
  • Dracula-destroyer
  • Animated saxophonist
  • Floral Muggle
  • Late actress and serial monogamist
  • Highwayman's horse
OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 18/09/2022 16:14

Elizabeth?

finallychangedmyusername · 18/09/2022 19:15

Correct, @ThatshallotBaby!
Perhaps an obvious, timely choice. 😊

  • Abridged freedom > freedom = liberty, abridged being Libby
  • Dracula-destroyer > Buffy the Vampire slayer
  • Animated saxophonist > Lisa Simpson (The Simpsons)
  • Floral Muggle > Lily Potter (Harry Potter series)
  • Late actress and serial monogamist > Liz Taylor (married 8 times)
  • Highwayman's horse > Black Bess, Dick Turpin's horse

... All are nicknames for, or derivatives of Elizabeth.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 26/09/2022 21:09

Hi @Thatshallotbaby are you ok to post the next one? Thanks!

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 30/09/2022 18:56

I can’t think 😀
would somebody else like a turn?

finallychangedmyusername · 07/10/2022 16:04

Here's another one, for anyone who wants to play!

She's a diamond lass, but she might be seeing red after being served this slap-up meal.
