Guessing game V!

Merry twixmas! Xmas Grin

We have reached thread 5(!) of the baby names Guessing Game.

This was the (brilliant) brain child of @scotstar back in March 2018. Smile

All are welcome, rules of this game are pretty straightforward - someone describes a name. Whoever solves the clues is then in charge of describing the next name. Simple! Make the clues as fiendish or straightforward as you like. Grin

No-one's got it get, although Coco and Anais are good guesses.

...She's the type and ... alt(ernatively).
Plus 02xx.

She's biblical.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 14/06/2022 20:46

She's Greek and green.

Gaia?

finallychangedmyusername · 15/06/2022 16:42

Not Gaia, sorry. There's one in a famous family, with an alternate (some would say incorrect spelling).

Chloe!

finallychangedmyusername · 18/06/2022 15:13

Correct, @Ellmau! Chloe/Chloë/Chloé it is.

  • A Greek translation of Chloe is "blooming".
  • The perfume 'Chloe' is described as feminine and floral.
  • Chloë and Chloé are typed as Chlo then Alt+0201 or Alt+0235.
  • Chloe is a biblical and Greek name.
  • Associated with the translation of "blooming" is "green shoot".
  • And finally, Khloe Kardashian gives us the erm, alternate (or just wrong in my not-so-humble opinion) spelling. 😂

Over to you!

Mercy or judgment for her MIL? She is often on TV and likes her knots.

finallychangedmyusername · 20/06/2022 06:52

Claudia?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 20/06/2022 19:49

No.

As an actress she's had an affair and discovered her partner ha a secret wife.

Ellmau · 22/06/2022 23:00

She's kind of supreme.

finallychangedmyusername · 23/06/2022 23:43

Diana?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 25/06/2022 11:04

No.

She's a byword for loyalty.

Ellmau · 28/06/2022 23:16

She often works with her husband, who may be Irish.

finallychangedmyusername · 29/06/2022 12:25

Ruth?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 29/06/2022 18:58

Yes! Well done, @finallychangedmyusername

Some of the clues were to the biblical Ruth, some to late US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The actress was Ruth Wilson, star of The Affair and Jane Eyre . Ruth Langford works with husband Eamonn. Ruthless means merciless.

finallychangedmyusername · 30/06/2022 18:22

Thanks @Ellmau! It was the clues to the Notorious RBG that cracked it for me. 😁

Will put my thinking cap on for the next one!

OP posts:

Next one:

Don't feel comfortable with this next botanical and Roman lady, just because you may have done so in the past.

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 01/07/2022 05:51

Flora?

finallychangedmyusername · 01/07/2022 07:09

Not Flora, sorry.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 01/07/2022 17:51

Historically, the name is considered unisex, although now it is predominately considered to be a female name.

OP posts:
ThatshallotBaby · 03/07/2022 15:40

Evelyn?

finallychangedmyusername · 03/07/2022 20:39

Not Evelyn either.

This lady is one half of a famous silent film duo.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 06/07/2022 07:21

Laurel!

finallychangedmyusername · 06/07/2022 13:09

Yes, @Ellmau !

"Don't feel comfortable with (her) just because you may have done so in the past" > "Don't rest on your laurels".

Laurel is both botanical and Roman.

Laurel is considered historically to be unisex, but now predominately female.

And finally, Laurel and Hardy!
