Guessing game V!

Merry twixmas! Xmas Grin

We have reached thread 5(!) of the baby names Guessing Game.

This was the (brilliant) brain child of @scotstar back in March 2018. Smile

All are welcome, rules of this game are pretty straightforward - someone describes a name. Whoever solves the clues is then in charge of describing the next name. Simple! Make the clues as fiendish or straightforward as you like. Grin

Not Sorrel but you're following the right hoof prints!

2TheMoonNBack · 17/10/2021 11:55

You'll groan when you see the answer!

finallychangedmyusername · 17/10/2021 16:14

Myrtle?

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 17/10/2021 16:58

Not moaning Myrtle - take a closer look at groaning Myrtle though.

Ellmau · 18/10/2021 21:42

Rowan

2TheMoonNBack · 18/10/2021 21:59

Sounds like Rowan - you'll gRoan when you work it out!

finallychangedmyusername · 20/10/2021 08:17

Mona?

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 20/10/2021 09:27

No. My clue making abilities are getting worse!Confused I thought the last clue was for the home run.

Look again at my last clue. The answer is there - sounds like rowan but not spelled that way - you'll gRoan!

finallychangedmyusername · 20/10/2021 11:05

Roan?

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 20/10/2021 12:04

Yes! At last - i need to brush up on my clues!

You might see this same old chestnut at a day at the races. Roan is a horse colour (can be chestnut with grey)

Sounds like a type of tree that will make you laugh. (Sounds like a rowan tree and I was thinking of comedian Rowan Atkinson)

And then Roan was hidden in groan.

finallychangedmyusername · 20/10/2021 21:48

Your clues were great @2TheMoonNBack, I was just being a bit slow! Grin Here's another:

Operatic lady who's part lioness and part crazy-sitcom-heroine, famed for her leg attire.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 22/10/2021 17:18

Another clue needed?

The sitcom heroine is no spring chicken. Grin

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 23/10/2021 19:53

Leonora?

finallychangedmyusername · 23/10/2021 21:39

Correct, @2TheMoonNBack!

Operatic - Leonora was the original title of Beethoven's Fidelio.
Part lioness - Leo
Part crazy-sitcom-heroine, famed for her leg attire - Nora Batty of Last of the Summer Wine (Batty = "crazy"), famed for her wrinkled stockings.
Leo + Nora = Leonora

Over to you!

OP posts:
2TheMoonNBack · 24/10/2021 11:01

Ok. One for the spooky season.

You'll find me in a scary movie title. I have prime ministerial connections.

LadyGAgain · 24/10/2021 21:18

Carrie?

2TheMoonNBack · 24/10/2021 22:14

That certainly works but not what I had in mind.

I can be a male or female first name as well as a surname.

Escourtie · 25/10/2021 19:25

Eden

2TheMoonNBack · 25/10/2021 23:41

Not Eden either. A more recent PM...

RiaOverTheRainbow · 25/10/2021 23:53

Blair!

2TheMoonNBack · 26/10/2021 12:12

Well done Ria!

You'll find me in a scary movie title (Blair Witch Hunt). I have prime ministerial connections (Tony Blair).

Now over to you!

RiaOverTheRainbow · 26/10/2021 16:32

Per your last email, the article you preposed, about a woman who is musical after dark.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 27/10/2021 16:21

New clue: regarding one who hides their name.

finallychangedmyusername · 29/10/2021 08:56

I'm struggling here.... Sue? Don't think that's right. Could I please request another clue?

OP posts:
RiaOverTheRainbow · 29/10/2021 14:28

She's a Welsh woman associated with birds and horses.
