I'm quite taken with it, do you think it is due a revival?

ODFOx · 22/12/2020 15:03

Yes ! It's a great name.

MrsFluffyMuff · 22/12/2020 15:04

Love it

Thehogfatherstolemycurry · 22/12/2020 15:04

No, it's my middle name, I hate it 😂
Fwendy Wendy from Peter pan. 🙄

Romemarie · 22/12/2020 15:04

I love this name. It’s beautiful and feminine. Suits any age.

elfran · 22/12/2020 15:36

I love it, and it goes so well with my DH's surname. Unfortunately he just laughed at the idea.

jabice · 22/12/2020 15:42

Personally I really don't like it.
Nearly all of the Wendy's that I know are 60+.
I work with 1 Wendy who is 30, and I just can't get used to a younger person being called it.

Angel2702 · 22/12/2020 15:43

I’ve always loved it

PuppyMonkey · 22/12/2020 15:49

It's a no from me sorry. Too soon.

Clareypoo · 22/12/2020 15:52

No way. Wendy..... can't help but say 'house' after it!

BasiliskStare · 22/12/2020 15:53

My son's godmother is called Wendy as is his most senior colleagues's wife. ( with whom he is friendly ) I think definitely due a revival @TheWashingMachine - I'd go for it - it sounds pretty - a name from a book from years ago so quite traditional - Ah I'd go for it. If Victora Coren Mitchell & her husband can call their daughter Barbara - I think you can do this.

TheWashingMachine · 22/12/2020 16:59

I know, my DS aged 9 said it is an old lady name but I like the story of Peter Pan and My Grandfather lived next door to JM Barrie and bought me the book before I was even born.

No, awful

BlueMoonGlint · 22/12/2020 17:08

Sweet Peter Pan vibes meet school dinner lady vibes.

MimiDaisy11 · 22/12/2020 18:21

I have never met a Wendy so I don't have any age connections, but I like the Peter Pan connection. It's not a name I would choose but I think it's cute.

LadyLazaruss · 22/12/2020 18:22

Nope

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 22/12/2020 18:24

I have recently lost a great friend called Wendy. She was lovely and very brave.
I love it.

Confuzzlediddled · 22/12/2020 18:25

I'm a Wendy (not a school dinner lady either, or 60+!)
My brother chose my name after seeing the pantomime, he's no longer with us so I'm glad I have a link to him. I've also signed the Wendy book at JM Barrie's birthplace!

windthatbobbin · 22/12/2020 18:26

Call her Gwendoline and use as a diminutive?

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 22/12/2020 18:27

@windthatbobbin

Call her Gwendoline and use as a diminutive?
Perfect!
winechateauxjoy · 22/12/2020 18:30

I love it - it's a really lovely name. I also think the Gwendoline suggestion is inspired.

DorotheaHomeAlone · 22/12/2020 18:36

Really, really terrible. Sorry. Wet and weak and old lady but not traditional or cool.

pinkpetal2 · 22/12/2020 18:37

I hate it for a baby it just reminds me old and a Wendy house.

Roselilly36 · 22/12/2020 18:50

Awful, please don’t name your baby girl Wendy.

Sexnotgender · 22/12/2020 18:51

I used to work with an Australian Wendy, she was lovely.

Florrieboo · 22/12/2020 19:26

I love it, there is one in school with my daughter and she is lovely. She is 8.
