What would you call her?

Also, is the name your ‘if I was brave enough’ name? If not please tell me them both Grin

I’m hoping to find inspiration because we’ve come up with 3 names and none feel ‘right’.

Thank you Xmas Smile

TheQueensGambit · 14/12/2020 22:03

Roxanne is a fantastic name @Chocoholicmumma! I love it.

I think people may call it "brave" because of the song maybe? But it definitely wouldn't put me off.. it's fab!

Changednamesorry · 14/12/2020 22:04

I like a lot of very unmumsnetty names for girls but they come from the girls whose names i was jealous of when I was a little girl! (i was born in the mid 80s)

So

Kylie
Kayleigh
Stacey

missmouse101 · 14/12/2020 22:13

Cassia. Didn't have a brave enough name, although I loved Fenella at the time!

BuzzingTheBee · 14/12/2020 22:15

Frankie

Chocoholicmumma · 14/12/2020 22:15

@TheQueensGambit aww thank you. Yes it’s definitely the song but the one time it was mentioned to my dd she pulled this fa e 🤨 and walked away, her generation don’t even know the song.
More than once I’ve had “oh Roxie like from Eastenders?” 🙄(Dd was born around the time Roxy made her debut)

yellow25 · 14/12/2020 22:19

Stella. I just love it.

DH absolutely will never though, so in the highly unlikely event we find ourselves with a daughter tomorrow she'd likely be Delilah, Ivy or Eden.

TheQueensGambit · 14/12/2020 22:19

Exactly @Chocoholicmumma. If anyone from younger generations even knows the song, it definitely won't be the first thing they think of.

CuddlyDudley71 · 14/12/2020 22:20

Fenella or Polly.

AndThenTheDayBecomesTheNight · 14/12/2020 22:22

Miranda or Thalia

Helena (hel-ay-na)

IdblowJonSnow · 14/12/2020 22:26

@LemonBreeland

One of my distant ancestors was a Clementina! And there was an Adelaide too. They seem like very exotic names compared to their backgrounds and circumstances! Very interesting. Smile

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 14/12/2020 22:27

I'd call her Claudia (underused because of the meaning, but hopefully most people wouldn't know/care about that)

Guinevere or Cassiopeia if I was brave (but I guess Cassia could be a useable compromise).

AndThenTheDayBecomesTheNight · 14/12/2020 22:29

I think Luminita is a lovely name - guess that's my 'brave' one.

Springersprung · 14/12/2020 22:29

Bearing in mind that I am very much English, with only some distant Welsh roots, I'm not sure how many of my names I could get away with (given I already have one dd named Erin), but top (if brave) would be Nerys or Eira. Niamh/Nieve also on the list.

babyguffingtonstrikesagain · 14/12/2020 22:32

Alba or Rosalie

Changednamesorry · 14/12/2020 22:32

Pearl is also nice (seen above)

lottiegarbanzo · 14/12/2020 22:41

Mirabel Phoenicia

wellingtonsandwaffles · 14/12/2020 22:41

Lana / Alana - this name has never crossed my radar with DC but just popped into my head when you asked the question and now I think it would be quite a contender!

Not Brave enough (as it sort of rhymes with surname!) - Fenella (nn Nelly, Nel)
