What are your opinions on Simon? I quite like it although it is a bit old fashioned.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
formerbabe · 05/12/2020 12:29

Fine...no strong feelings either way. It's quite bland and inoffensive

Respectabitch · 05/12/2020 12:29

An understated classic that makes a refreshing change from all the Archies and their ilk.

AuntieStella · 05/12/2020 12:31

I like it

It's not been in use for a while - from when last in frequent use, Simon is now in his 50s with a brother called Nick and best friend Neil

Fridgedooropen · 05/12/2020 12:32

I love it. So under used.

MikeUniformMike · 05/12/2020 12:45

I like it. Like pp, it's a refreshing change from the -ie, -o, and -a names.

ImaSababa · 05/12/2020 16:45

It's not one you hear much nowadays. It's a bit whiny, but generally ok.

FawnDrench · 05/12/2020 18:04

Not keen - very greige to me.

finallychangedmyusername · 05/12/2020 19:53

I like it a lot. I think a little Simon would be ahead of the curve (I'm sure we'll soon see lots of baby Simons, Andrews, Roberts, Stephens, Marks, Gregorys etc).

BuffaloCauliflower · 05/12/2020 19:56

Never met one I didn’t like. Definitely underused now but that’s a strength, it’s dated but not as much as other similar names.

Europilgrim · 05/12/2020 19:57

Always makes me think of simple Simon unfortunately.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/12/2020 20:01

Not due a revival.

LadyFelsham · 05/12/2020 20:03

Tasteful and classic.

Such a refreshing change from the many Jacks, Archies, Charlies and Noahs. Nothing wrong with those names apart from the fact that there just so many of them!

ClaireP20 · 05/12/2020 20:05

I like it too x

gingerbreadfox · 05/12/2020 20:06

I like it Smile

FippertyGibbett · 05/12/2020 20:07

Simple Simon comes to mind unfortunately.

PinkBuffalo · 05/12/2020 20:10

I love Simon and I know a couple of simons and they are really nice guys 🙂

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 05/12/2020 20:32

It would be refreshing to hear of a baby Simon now, but I admit it's not a favorite of mine. If I was going to use a dated/un-fashionable classic I prefer Philip, Peter or Christopher.

Pktjrsmoi · 05/12/2020 22:38

I LOVE it

DramaAlpaca · 05/12/2020 23:55

I like it. It's an underused classic.

Cindie943811A · 06/12/2020 21:27

A good choice in my opinion

user1493494961 · 07/12/2020 12:18

I really like it, a very good choice.

moonpig23 · 07/12/2020 12:24

I have a cat called Simon :)

dopenguinsdance · 07/12/2020 12:27

Not massively keen OP, simply because the adult Simons I know are without exception unmitigated sh**s. Sorry

awwkkwwaard · 07/12/2020 12:29

How about Simeon - as a variation and not so dated (unless you call the bible dated...)

Hoppinggreen · 07/12/2020 12:31

Bit dull but pretty inoffensive.
The ones I know are late 30s to mid 40s
