Capri?

What do you think of this name for a girl? It would be after the Italian city (where we got married) I was thinking of maybe using it as a middle name? So it would be Aurora Capri. I was going to call her Aurora Violet but now I can’t decide😂. Do you think it sounds strange because of Capri Sun the drink?

It's very footballers wives but middle names really don't matter. Nobody knows anyone elses anyway

Spied · 02/12/2020 12:14

It goes well with Aurora but it's think of the old 80s Ford Capri rather than the drinkGrin.
Does sound very pretty though.

It made me think of leggings. But actually, I quite like it as a.middle name

TenThousandSpoons · 02/12/2020 12:15

Good as a middle name and nice that you have a link to the place.
Just don’t put it with first name Isla Wink

helloxhristmas · 02/12/2020 12:16

I wouldn't link it to Capri Sun as I would pronounce it differently. As a middle name no one will ever know what it is so go for it if you like it.

LeaveMyDamnJam · 02/12/2020 12:17

Capri sun drink!
Capri ghia ( Del Boys car for Raquel)
Not the best choice name tbh.

Melassa · 02/12/2020 12:19

To make it work you’d need to pronounce Aurora Italian style, so Ow-rora. But then I suppose it would depend on how you pronounce Capri.

MonkeyPuddle · 02/12/2020 12:19

Sun.
Pants.
No.

Alarae · 02/12/2020 12:19

Capri sun.
Capri length leggings.

I appreciate its after a city, but it looks unfinished as a human name to me.

AuntieStella · 02/12/2020 12:21

I was going to say it's pants Grin

But it's fine as a middle name

Nymeriastark1 · 02/12/2020 12:22

First thing they came to my mind was the kids drink.

Dontpasstovardy · 02/12/2020 12:22

I thought of the model Caprice.

Champy87 · 02/12/2020 12:46

I did think of the island first although I do think its a bit wannabe celeb. Lucy Meck has Roman Ravello as they got engaged in Ravello, Italy.

The other thing I would note is Aurora is a popular name in Italy due to its Roman and Latin roots. People may assume with two Italian names that you have Italian heritage. No bad thing but just to make you aware.

MercyBodle · 02/12/2020 13:07

Lovely - works well with Aurora, has nice meaning for you, sounds attractive and is unexpected. Go for it! ( I like Violet as well).

M0MS · 02/12/2020 13:27

I know a Capri. I'd guess she's around 9 or 10 now. I think it's really nice.Smile

MrsMoastyToasty · 02/12/2020 13:35

I much prefer Porsche Carrera as a name. Classy innit?

Ellmau · 02/12/2020 18:45

I wouldn't like it for a first name, but as a middle name when it has a personal resonance for you, I think it's OK.

mortas · 02/12/2020 19:35

I like it, but will she be born a Capricorn? (21 Dec - 19 Jan) in that case, I wouldn't.

Doublebubblebubble · 02/12/2020 19:39

Not for me. For one reason: Capri Suns!

Juanbablo · 02/12/2020 19:40

I like it.

OffredOfjune · 02/12/2020 19:51

I like it. One of Kobe and Vanessa Bryant's daughters is called Capri.

Chattercino · 02/12/2020 19:55

Sun

TrixieHeliotrope · 02/12/2020 20:29

Great name - Capri-sun is my son's favourite drink and the Ford Capri is my favourite car. In the unlikely scenario I have another child, if they're a girl I'd probably name her that.
