Twins!!

Our Twins will be born today and we have struggled with names throughout the pregnancy.

Looks like we are going for

Rufus James

And

Jaxon William

(The middle names are grandparents)

What do people think?

Love Rufus and both middle names, but think Jason will have a lifetime of spelling his name over the phone and correcting people from 'Jackson'. Were there any other contenders? Tobias (Toby), Jude, Jonty?

Rufus is a lovely name - very "established", one of my all time favourites. Jaxon has a much more modern feel to it so the two names are very different - not necessarily a bad thing. Jaxon sounds like the son of a basketball player to me (I have no idea why). Middle names are lovely.

Still on the J's...Jared, Jonah?

Love Rufus and your middle names are great but Jaxon isn't in the same league for me I'm afraid.
If you're settled on them though you probably shouldn't have asked for opinions at this late stage!

Love Rufus and really don't like Jaxon. They also don't really go together.
Jackson is better but I still don't think it goes with Rufus.

Rufus and Jaxon are completely different style of name to me and don’t go well together at all. Jaxon is modern and probably “on-trend” but it will run it course, probably soon and I feel, like a PP said, he will have a lifetime of correcting people on the spelling.

Since you asked... I’m also not sure about Jaxon.

Rufus, William and James are all very traditional “middle class” names.

Jaxon always reminds me of Klaxon and it feels like it’s trying too hard to be different.

I think Jack William is much nicer.

I adore Rufus. Stylish and smart.
I really don't like Jaxon. Jack, Jasper or Jago would be better.

Still shows they don't go together though doesn't it? Two completely different styles of name. One is classic and the other is modern and fashionable.

Love Rufus but not Jackson sorry-Jasper nn Jazz is fab

Rufus is one of my favourite names and I love the middle names. I dislike Jaxon. Jackson would be a big improvement but is not nearly as cool as Rufus. Jack William would be an improvement too.

My 7 month old is a Jaxson Dennis James. My Mil surname (maiden) is Jackson but we preferred Jax shortened instead of jack. Then middle names are after my farther who passed away we love the name and have had a lot of completments on it.

Other names we liked were Ezra, Cameron and dexter.

How about Rufus and Jago?

Rufus is nice but dislike Jaxon, agree with pp that they are different styles, it sounds like you both chose a name but have different tastes. I would say Rufus is classic but Jaxon is a bit downmarket.

Like PPs I love Rufus and the middle names, but dont like Jaxon. Rufus is IME favoured by quite classy/hipster couples. Jaxon is a different vibe entirely I think.

Felix as suggested^^ goes a lot better I think.
