Sister for Delilah

Hey, struggling to find names I love for our baby girl. Have worked with children for years so lots of names I am put of off.

I like Beatrix and Amelie.

My name ends in lie so not sure if that is a problem with Amelie?

Also the middle name will possibly be violet.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great thank you!!

Not everyone is religious @mikeuniformmike , I'm not bothered about Delilah being a bad person in the bible as I don't believe in any of that. My Delilah is lovely :) so thanks for the unhelpful comment

I love both Beatrix and Amelie, but particularly Beatrix! I have both Delilah and Beatrix on my baby name list and think they both go great together. I'm not a fan of violet due to it sounding like violent but if you love it then go for it.

cloverbug · 15/11/2020 10:53

@MikeUniformMike What a ridiculous thing to say. 🙄

Ellmau · 15/11/2020 10:54

Beatrix is great. (As is Delilah.)

@cloverbug, it was a genuine suggestion.

cloverbug · 15/11/2020 11:15

@MikeUniformMike I'm sure. 🙄
You're always on here trolling people.

Tvchocolatetea · 15/11/2020 11:39

@cloverbug ah yeah I do love Beatrix. My partner doesn't like it as much. Violet is a family name which is why I would like to use it :) xx

I don't troll anyone @cloverbug.
Delilah is a biblical name as is Jezebel. Same sort of vibe.

FloraFlamingo · 15/11/2020 11:46

@MikeUniformMike you are always on this topic trolling people, yes. I wonder why

Mish85 · 15/11/2020 11:46

I think Adeline would be lovely with Delilah.

RomillyTheRabbit · 15/11/2020 11:49

Beatrix is lovely! I think it goes really well with Delilah.

Amelie is quite popular and sounds a lot like Emily, Amelia, Emelia, which are also popular. I don't get out off names if they're a bit popular, but when there are a few popular names which all sound similar, yes that does actually put me off a bit. So I personally wouldn't use Amelie.

MikeUniformMike · 15/11/2020 12:12

@FloraFlamingo, I don't troll anyone. I suspect that you do not know the meaning of trolling.

If OP had asked for suggestions for a name for a sibling for Sarah and I'd said Mary or Martha, that would not have resulted in (wrongful) allegations of trolling.

Thefaceofboe · 15/11/2020 12:19

@MikeUniformMike I see your comments all the time and they are so rude. Do you just sit refreshing the baby name section?

MikeUniformMike · 15/11/2020 12:23

Must do if you say so @Thefaceofboe

Nell96 · 15/11/2020 12:44

I like Beatrix - lovely meaning, goes well with both Delilah and Violet (also love Violet as a first name). Can be shortened to Bea or Trixie, though I prefer the full version.

Not keen on Amelie. I don't dislike it, I just think it blends in with other quite popular names starting with A or E - Amelia, Emma, Emily, Ella, Evie etc.
