Sister for Delilah

Hey, struggling to find names I love for our baby girl. Have worked with children for years so lots of names I am put of off.

I like Beatrix and Amelie.

My name ends in lie so not sure if that is a problem with Amelie?

Also the middle name will possibly be violet.

If anyone has any ideas that would be great thank you!!

@MikeUniformMike maybe trolling is the wrong word.

But I only ever pop onto a name post when I see it in active and I invariably see you have posted on it and it's always, always rude. Others have also spotted this so maybe it's something to think about for the future? This topic is clearly 'your thing' but I don't know if I would want to be recognised as that poster who just hangs around a topic to make snide comments

Delilah is a beautiful name and is hard to pair with sibling idea but here are a few:

Jemima
Ruby
Saffron
Zara
Jasmine
Autumn
April

To my ears all these names are quite strong and full of personality, like Delilah.

RomillyTheRabbit · 15/11/2020 16:15

I know sisters named Ruby and Delilah. I think they go well together.

@FloraFlamingo, I am never rude. I comment on things like the suggestion of Elouise - Eloise and Louise are two different names, both lovely, whereas Elouise looks like a typo, which in this case it might be, but what if someone saw it and named their baby DD that and called her Ellie as a nn?

IRL, I know some people with WTF names, and I really wonder what were their parents thinking. Look at this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/4079484-Rhodes, I assumed it was someone messing about, but if it was real that little child will be mighty glad that his or her DM posted on here.

Some lovely suggestions thanks so much.

@MikeUniformMike can I ask do you have children? If so what are their names? As you love taking the piss so much out of others choices. We all have different tastes, no need to be unkind about other people's though.

@Tvchocolatetea, in what way have I taken the piss out of names?

Yes, I do have children, and they and I are perfectly happy with the names.

I was going to suggest Tallulah for your DD2, but I suppose that would be taking the piss too, would it? Never mind that I think that it has a similar length, and that I think it is pretty and have thought so since I first saw Bugsy Malone. I also thought of Jemima, which I love, but I think it might be too rhymey with your DD1's name.
Tamara is nice and has the same sort of length.

I don't think Susannah or Cecilia have been suggested yet? To me they have a similar lyrical feel as Delilah..

Brighterthansunflowers · 15/11/2020 20:30

I think Delilah and Beatrix go well together and I really like Beatrix. I actually personally prefer Beatrice but think Beatrix goes better with Delilah

AbbieMea · 15/11/2020 21:52

Delilah was a huge contender when hubby and I where deciding on our twin girl names but we ended up going for Isabella and Mackenzie, we called their younger sisters Abbie and Hallie which all go with Delilah so well.
Good luck, hope all goes well for you and your family!

Chimbleys · 15/11/2020 23:17

My 3yr old's 'girlfriend' at nursery is Delilah (such a pretty name) and her sister is Gisele.

ChelseeDagger · 15/11/2020 23:35

I have a Delilah.
Her sister is Sylvie

Firebird83 · 16/11/2020 00:19

Beatrix is perfect

Penny21xxx · 16/11/2020 00:59

Delilah is lovely!
I think Matilda or Penelope go well!
