I'm not mad on Edith, but I love the rest of the girls' list.

Tobias and Flynn are great. Don't like the others though, sorry.

Yennefer19 · 07/11/2020 23:10

Boys names I love Rafe and Flynn.

I like Hazel and Emma from your girls names. (I’m slightly biased as I am a Emma 😂😂). If you do plan to use Emma please don’t use the middle name Louise, there’s 1000s of us.

whatsbinhappnin · 07/11/2020 23:11

Rafe- quite nice
Flynn- I like it but prefer Fenn
Otto- nice
Quill- had no idea this was a name
Tobias- nice but there are so many Tobys

Edith- too popular
Heather- meh
Hazel- like
Tamsin- like
Emma- like

Favourites are Otto and Hazel

Kanaloa · 07/11/2020 23:12

My favourites are Hazel & Otto, really nice. The only one I really don’t like is Quill.

M0rT · 07/11/2020 23:14

I named a cow Heather when I was a child....it was a very pretty red cow so I'd choose that ☺️
I like Rafe and Tobias from your boys list, nothing wrong with the others except Flynn which is a surname and not a cool one you would choose for a first name like Fletcher.

countrystumpkin · 07/11/2020 23:17

@whatsbinhappnin I have no idea if Quill is a name or not either - but it's the only suggestion my husband gave and I didn't have the heart to veto him straightaway 😬

@Yennefer19 yes no worries with Louise. My sister has the middle name Louise and she said every other girl in her year was the same

Rafe. Bit pretentious
Flynn. Like this
Otto. Hmmm, ok
Quill What? This is the pointy bit on the end of a writing instrument. No, no, no
Tobias. Bit Dickensian. Will get abbreviated. Not a fan

Edith. No, too old fashioned
Heather. Also old fashioned
Hazel Rather lovely fash
Tamsin Ok-ish
Emma. Ok-ish

Giraffey1 · 07/11/2020 23:19

Hazel ... rather old fashioned *

AnnaSW1 · 07/11/2020 23:19

Otto and Emma. Hands down the best

Ohtherewearethen · 07/11/2020 23:19

Quill sounds a bit odd and try-hard. I prefer Quinn. Likewise, I prefer Raff to Rafe. Edith has become extremely popular lately. Tamsin is a bit 90s and isn't old or retro enough to make a comeback yet. Emma is a timeless classic. Hazel is lovely. Heather is neither here nor there.
What about Heath or Fawn?

CharityPecksniff · 07/11/2020 23:20

Rafe - no
Flynn - no
Otto - yes, love it
Quill - no
Tobias - yes, lovely

Edith - beautiful
Heather - nice
Hazel - no, she'll be called Nutty
Tamsin - gorgeous
Emma - lovely

Chilldonaldchill · 07/11/2020 23:43

Rafe - lovely
Flynn - lovely
Otto - the only one I know is a bit of an arrogant so-and-so which puts me off
Quill - sorry but I think this is awful
Tobias - lovely

Edith - lovely
Heather - this always sounds a bit wet to me
Hazel - I'm not keen
Tamsin - wow everyone is mentioning this one at the moment. Maybe this will be next year's Margot. It's ok.
Emma - simple but pretty

I like Flynn, Tobias and Rafe from the boys' list but Rafe probably just edges it for me.
Edith wins hands down from your girls' list.

RaininSummer · 07/11/2020 23:47

I quite like all of them except for Quill which seems a bit strange.

YourWinter · 07/11/2020 23:47

I love them all except Quill

MondeoFan · 07/11/2020 23:51

Emma - no no no

Quill - a joke right?

Others - fine

Tavannach · 08/11/2020 00:00

My favourites are

Otto
Tobias

Tamsin
Hazel

I don't like Edith, sorry.
You can't call him Quill - it's for a lifetime. Quinn is okay though.

Tavannach · 08/11/2020 00:01

or Will?

BeBraveAndBeKind · 08/11/2020 00:01

I have no idea if Quill is a name or not either - but it's the only suggestion my husband gave and I didn't have the heart to veto him straightaway

Is he a Guardians of the Galaxy/Marvel fan by any chance?

I really like Flynn from the boys list and Edith from the girls (Edie is a cute nickname too).

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 08/11/2020 00:01

I like Tobias and Emma best - classic, traditional names that shouldn't date and suit all ages.
Tamsin, Hazel, Rafe and Flynn are also pleasant enough (I especially have a soft spot for Flynn, despite it's modernity), but they are much more quirky feeling.
Edith and Heather are a bit too dated for me and I dislike the sound of Otto and Quill, sorry.

africanantelope · 08/11/2020 00:04

Love Rafe! Was my number 1 choice for a boy

ChanklyBore · 08/11/2020 00:07

I’m happy to record my first honest responses.

Rafe - short for Raphael
Flynn - Robson and Jerome. Flynn Rider from Tangled. Flan.
Otto - Frank, Anne Frank’s Dad. Sadness.
Quill - feathered writing implement.
Tobias - Bias

Edith - downtown abbey
Heather - knew someone named this I didn’t like.
Hazel - nut. Tree. Know two people named this. Dislike one but not enough to put me off the name.
Tamsin - outhwaite. Eastenders. Killed by an ashtray. New tricks.
Emma - several friends. Common name, nice enough.

On balance I’d choose Tobias or Hazel.

Ohtannenbaumohtannenbaum · 08/11/2020 00:11

Rafe - not to my taste but nothing wrong with it at all
Flynn - ok but not to my taste
Otto - I think this is cool, I also like Otis
Quill - never heard of this before, definitely unusual but I dont hate it actually!
Tobias - lovely, love Toby too

Edith - not keen as I dont really like the old lady / old man name trend
Heather - not keen
Hazel - lovely
Tamsin - not keen
Emma - nice

BackforGood · 08/11/2020 00:17

I don't like any of the boys names, but especially not 'Quill'

I like Emma and Hazel out of the girls', and Heather is okay-ish.

rosesareredxxx · 08/11/2020 00:25

Tamsin and Tobias
