Lana, Lena, Lara, Luna or Lyra

I had a girl named Lyra in my school and everyone would call her liar so that’s a definite no.

I love Lana (maybe even Alana)
I quite like Lena, Luna

I know 3 Lunas. All of the doggy variety.

My preference - Lara. I have a stroppy 7 year old version

Lyra and Luna are too pop culture-y with the books/films/tv series. Like people using GoT names 10 years ago. (I know two Arya’s and a Khaleesi)

The Lana - anal thing puts me off

They all do kind of blend into one as they're very popular at the moment, along with similar names (Lyla, Lila, Lola etc). My personal favourite is Lana as it's a strong name, a bit less cutesy than the others I feel. I wouldn't worry about what it spells backwards. I know a 15 year old Lana and she has never had a problem with this.

Lyra and Lara are equally pretty, but quite popular at the moment. Lena is okay. The only one I truly dislike is Luna.

My favourites are Lena and Luna. They have a lovely sound to them. They sound magical.
My least favourites are Lyra and Lara. Sorry, they just don't have a nice sound to them, I think it's the harsh 'r' in them.

I love Lara and Lana. I wouldn't have made the associations others have (and I don't think it would put me off) but if I did I'd go for Lara.

Lena (pronounced lenna rather than Leena)
Luna is ok
Not keen on Lara and Lana is unfortunate when spelt backwards!

Lyra & Lara I like the best. Luna is nice also. Don’t like the other two, Lena is dull and gloomy sounding to me and Lana doesn’t even seem like a name.
