Mine would have been Spike and Merlin. Luckily the pethedine wore off quickly both times Grin

My fantasy twin girls are still called Romy and Piper though....

Jocasta or Persephone for DD. Also liked Esther. Actually went with Anna.

Hamish or Seamus for DS. Ended up with Philip after DF.

Colbinabbin · 29/10/2020 05:41

Elizabeth for DD1.
DS is William Robert but I wanted William Xavier
DD2 was supposed to be Fenella. Thank goodness my friends talked me out of that and she's Charlotte.
If DD2 had been a boy, he would have been named Atticus but I didn't know what sex the baby was until they were born, unlike the first two children.

BikeRunSki · 29/10/2020 05:49

DD would have been Isis. Fortunately, DH is a but more aware of current affairs than i am.

20viona · 29/10/2020 05:54

Piper or ember for a girl. Never really found a boys name I like.

LedaandtheSwan · 29/10/2020 05:54

Daisy Minerva or Thalia Minerva. Minerva is the Roman Goddess of arts, knowledge and war. I didn't get my own way, she's called something far more mundane.

If we'd had a boy his middle name would have been Ramses (king of Egypt) or Alfred. I like history, ok? Grin

Lizadork · 29/10/2020 08:48

Padime - because that is the way I say it and looks way better to me, than the star wars Padmè. Seems it was illogical.

Newest DD got Delilah instead which outside of pregnancy hormones was the better choice Grin

ChickensMightFly · 29/10/2020 08:53

Ds would have been Bruce, a name to which I have lots of positive associations, but now he's ten in glad not as he is not a Bruce. 😆
Dd was a rare one having both her parents united in their choice of Charis. But I liked Laura or Robyn too.

OohKittens · 29/10/2020 09:00

Youngest two would have been Thomasina and ziggy. I hate the names they have, luckily youngest goes by a completely different name and he's having it officially changed by deed poll. The name he is known by I don't know anyone else with the name and it suits him. Unfortunately my husband wouldn't let me have a say in their names and I cringe everytime I hear my daughter's name and she's 10.

micc · 29/10/2020 09:08

I would of loved Marigold! And Rocco for a boy. I also loved Maeve. All names I could get passed OH. Luckily we have similar ish tastes and we went for uncommon names

MmeCamenbert · 29/10/2020 09:16

I've got 3 and if I had had my way I would have a Margot, Tobias and Honor, I don't have any children with those names 🙁😁

HillaryWhitney · 29/10/2020 09:18

@ChickensMightFly DS2 (10) has a Bruce in his class and I am massively in awe of his parents for being so brave.

It's a name that sits between naff 90s Home and Away or super-cool and individual.

I love Thomasina @OohKittens.

For a girl I toyed with Eleanor but DH vetoed it and for a boy I really love Cole, but it was too short for the surname and DH hated that too.

AaronCardigan · 29/10/2020 09:34

Seraphina for a girl, Wilfred for a boy. DH vetoed both 🙈

kitschplease · 29/10/2020 09:36

I liked Raphael for a boy but DH vetoed. I like the name but it really wouldn't suit my son.

pastaparadise · 29/10/2020 09:49

I would have loved Laurie (Laurence) for ds2 but was vetoed Sad Still dont think his name suits him and he's 5

Mumoblue · 29/10/2020 09:52

I would have loved to have a girl called Luna, but with the surname it would have been ridiculous.
We ended up having a little boy anyway, but I still love the name.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 29/10/2020 09:55

I had Merryn for a girl (which if we ever have a surprise third would definitely be in the mix) and Corrigan for a boy (which I would never have used. Blame it on a book I read while pregnant.)

I know a toddler called Bruce, named after his granddad. It really suits him!

Champy87 · 29/10/2020 11:46

So many great names on here. I love Seraphina and Honor.

My front runners were Maggie and Edie when I was pregnant but my husband wasn't as keen. I love Rudy for a boy but a close friend (who didn't know it was our front runner) used it first.

If we are talking names that I love but wasn't brave enough, it would have been Daphne, Magnus and Roma. I can't blame my OH though as I am not sure I would have been brave enough even without his input.

RuthW · 29/10/2020 12:25

Rosemary

jasminetealeaves · 29/10/2020 13:43

@OohKittens Did you not like the names when your children were born? Do you wish you'd changed them? Why didn't your husband listen to you?!

Mine are Orsa and Albi

OohKittens · 29/10/2020 13:59

I didn't like the names at all and he knew that but I wasn't allowed a say. What mattered to him was his families opinions (who we are now nc with and have been for six years).

Firebird83 · 29/10/2020 15:20

I wanted to call DS River or Atlas. DH thought both were ridiculous, so he has a classic, traditional name instead!

iftherewereahorseyinthehouse · 29/10/2020 17:57

Elizabeth Joy and Michael Edward

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 29/10/2020 19:30

Lowena for a girl, Jackson for a boy. Dp vetoed them both. I love the names we ended up with more though.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 30/10/2020 13:17

Rachael and Rebecca for the girls
Freddie and Gabriel for the boys

I'm not fond of anything too .... 'out there' Blush
