Thinking of naming our baby Alma, love the way it sounds, soft and calm. Also love it's meaning in other languages. Thoughts please...

Means Soul in Spanish, pretty common name there but for older ladies. If you like it go for it, I think it's lovely.

I like it. I know a lady called it and she is the most beautiful, gentle soul and has really made the name grow on me.

It's fine. It's calm but not wet sounding. Nice and easy to say and spell.

I adore this name, inspired by a toddler Alma I know. So much so, it's on our shortlist for our next one ..

The OP asked if people liked the name. I answered. People saying that they love the name is also a matter of taste and no more or less correct than my opinion.

I like it but it makes me think of Llamas. Alma the Llama. And now I’m thinking of the Llama Farmer song from Horrible Histories so I’ll be humming that to myself all evening Grin

I like it. It was a name we considered for DD... DH preferred Alba but I vetoed it because of the association with cheap electronics Grin
