Which of these boy’s names do you prefer?

Daniel. If I'd had another boy it would have been my top choice.

I like Jonathan too, but it's a bit long for me.

Babyfg · 26/10/2020 00:02

Jonathan. It was on my list but dh wasn't sold on it. I think it has a nice beat to it

SemperIdem · 26/10/2020 00:02

Daniel

Enough4me · 26/10/2020 00:02

Jonathan Daniel

Daniel

NoSquirrels · 26/10/2020 00:04

Daniel.

Both lovely names. If pushed, I'd go for Daniel as I also love Dan and Danny, but not so much Jon or Jonny (when you start getting into spelling dilemmas)

RunningFromWaterGhoul · 26/10/2020 00:17

Daniel

I prefer John to Jonathan (feels slightly more classic) but out of the 2 names I like Jonathan better than Daniel as I'm the opposite of a pp in that I much prefer Jonny over Dan/Danny!

August20 · 26/10/2020 01:17

Daniel but both are good names.

MikeUniformMike · 26/10/2020 08:37

I prefer John to Jonathan too, but I like all three names. Dan is a name in its own right.

Given that you ask which one, I'd say Jonathan, but both are absolutely fine, and would be willing to name a son either.

JollyGiraffe12 · 26/10/2020 08:38

Daniel

FizzyGreenWater · 26/10/2020 13:34

Jonathan - Daniel has been so so so overused in the past. Dans are ten a penny.

Jon, Jonty, Jonny - more nn options, more unusual, lovely name.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 26/10/2020 13:35

Daniel. I wanted to call ds Daniel but dh not keen.

TheSeedsOfADream · 26/10/2020 13:36

Both lovely. Timeless classics. Daniel has been more popular over the last 40 odd years, but I think the youngest big group of Daniels are probably at uni.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 26/10/2020 13:37

Also Daniel much easier to spell. You’ll get Jonathan, Jonothan, Jonathon and Jonothon. My dd’s name can be spelt in more than one way and it is rubbish when she gets a certificate or something for doing good and it has the wrong name on it.

MikeUniformMike · 26/10/2020 18:38

and Johnathan or Johnathon

grandmasterstitch · 26/10/2020 18:44

My husband is Jonathan and his brother is Daniel so based on that I would say Jonathan Grin I do love the name Daniel though

happymummy12345 · 26/10/2020 18:46

Daniel
It was the only boys name we wanted. It was decided from when I was 7 months pregnant if we had a boy he would be Daniel

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 26/10/2020 18:46

Daniel

Tillygetsit · 26/10/2020 22:54

I love Daniel. Dd1 would have been Daniel if a boy. Dd2 wouldn't. Different dh who wasnt keen. Good job she was a she. Daniel is such a brilliant name.

Enrosadira · 26/10/2020 23:01

Daniel

Nighttimenope · 26/10/2020 23:03

Ah this was my choice with my last baby! Jonathan all the way!!
(My baby is actually called Daniel... I dearly love that name too, but if husband didn’t have a say he would have been a Jonathan 😁)

lilacmoon78 · 26/10/2020 23:08

Daniel

Frazzled2207 · 26/10/2020 23:11

Daniel was my first choice! Unfortunately it wasn’t my dh’s...
brilliant name.
