Eck names

I have realised I really like names with a hard C sound or even better, eck. But I haven't found the right one...

If I was traditional I'd go with Rebecca - i like the becca sound but this is not our style at all

If I was a bit braver I'd go with Echo but I am not famous enough for this.

I recently have started liking Beck for a boy and this feels the right level of unusual.

Other names I like are:
Juno
Sunday
Indie
Wren
Cara

Or

Milo
Ace
Fox
Sonny

I prefer short names so they can't be shortened but can live with 2 syllables. I like unusual names and if you can find one with a Ca or Eck even better.

Any ideas?

In parts of Scotland, 'Eck' is a rather old-fashioned abbreviation for Alexander. There was/is a famous cartoon character, 'Wee Eck'. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oor_Wullie

Eck is also sometimes used to refer to a certain former First Minister.

Anton Dec?

SleepWellBeast · 12/10/2020 17:08

Thanks all. So far, Iska is going on the long list. And maybe Jecca if it's not too posh for us!

Caroline/Catrina too long and not our style. Love Cassius but know this would be shortened to Cass and don't want to shorten.

Erica, Hector, Declan not our style but the right sound. Prefer shorter though.

Hadn't thought of X sounds and of those Maddox probably most suited to us.

Huck is a surprise entry that is probably closest to what we like. Maybe verging on too American though?

Love Carys and Cerys but no Welsh links - can we use it anyway?

Aware of the Alex/eck thing through a football manager - not looking to actually use eck!

I was born in Swansea but moved when I was 6 months. I have a Cerys lol. I think it can be used

Any child called Huck is going to be called Fuck within about ten minutes. And every teacher doing the register will probably have to concentrate very hard, at least for the first few weeks...

monkeyonthetable · 12/10/2020 18:09

I love Iska and Silke. I also love Cerys. Do you have to be Welsh for it?
