Love it. It’s one of my Ds’s middle names

katy1213 · 10/10/2020 21:20

Resentful - my one and only premium bond has never come up.

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/10/2020 21:22

Alfie/Artie/Ernie/Albie etc.
They just blend into one.

RuthW · 10/10/2020 21:22

Love it

percypetulant · 10/10/2020 21:23

The fastest milkman in the West.

Kanaloa · 10/10/2020 21:39

I really like Ernest. I don’t love Ernie as much as the full name but it’s fine as a nickname.

Firebird83 · 10/10/2020 22:46

I like it!

DramaAlpaca · 10/10/2020 23:15

Horrible name. Sorry, OP.

unicornparty · 10/10/2020 23:15

It's awful sorry.

Hazelgood · 10/10/2020 23:18

monkeyonthetable · 10/10/2020 23:22

I love it.

alexdgr8 · 10/10/2020 23:26

yes, yes, a fine name.
and there's a whole play that he can enjoy later, all about the importance of being ernest

Auto · 10/10/2020 23:46

I'm not keen, but I like some of the other older E names like Eric and Edwin.

AllPlayedOut · 10/10/2020 23:57

It's an incredibly ugly name.

VenusClapTrap · 11/10/2020 14:32

Great name. Dd has a crush on an Ernie in the year above her.

FizzyGreenWater · 11/10/2020 14:38

Really ugly sorry.

And not even interesting ugly. Just boring!

toiletpaper · 11/10/2020 14:44

Absolutely awful sorry, it reminds me of ear wax

Scoobygang7 · 11/10/2020 15:03

I love it. I am bias though my youngest has 2 middle names and the first one is Ernest after my grandad.

overthemountainsandfaraway · 11/10/2020 19:49

I've always liked it!

PineappleUpsideDownCake · 11/10/2020 19:52

It used to be said as an insult when I was at school with your tongue between your teeth and lower lips.

I havent seen anyone do that in forever and cant even remember what it meant as such.

But seing Erniieeeee makes me think it staright away!

DiabeticFirstBaby · 11/10/2020 19:53

Baby Ernest/Ernie is fine and cute but 14 year old Ernest getting a hard time at school because of his old fashioned name isn't good.

MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2020 21:02

It's fine but most people over 50 will think Morecambe & Wise, premium bonds and the fastest milkfloat in the west.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 11/10/2020 21:07

Like Ernie don't like Ernest

PeaceAndHarmoneeee · 11/10/2020 21:22

It's one of the only 'old man' names that I really dislike. The other being Stanley!

Toilenstripes · 11/10/2020 21:24

Deeply unattractive name
