Nicknames for Alexandra?

I know this thread was done years ago but I'd like some fresh ideas of what people think of the name Alexandra-violet for a girl.. and what nicknames i could use? Should i double barrell or have violet as middle name...

Do you think i could get away with Zana as a nickname? As im not keen on Lexi and like alex but feel its not right for a baby girl xx

Alexandra Violet is a really lovely name. Don't hyphenate it. You can still call her the full name any time you want to!

I think Zana works well for a nickname. I love it when people come up with unexpected nicknames for classic names. Other ideas: Xan, Zandra, Andra, Andy, Annie, Ally, Sandy, Lex.

Thanks so much MercyBodle.... I'd never heard of Zana until it popped up on some site yesterday and i thought oooh that's different!!! But still mainly call her Alexandra as its traditional... Violet was my nans name..

Sasha is the classic Russian nickname for Alexander/Alexandra.

My Alexandra is Ali to us, but Alex to her friends!

It's a fantastic name, OP. I love Violet too as that was my granny's name.

I know of an Alexandra called Xandie. She was an adorable little girl. She's an adult now.

I was stunned to discover that a Sandra who'd been in my class for 5 years was officially Alexandra Olga (and neither of her parents were from the USSR).

Violet is lovely, please don't hyphenate it.

Alexandra Violet is lovely. Allie, Lexie/Lexa, Zandra/Zandie could all be nicknames.

I know a couple Alexandra's, one goes by Allie, the other goes by Lexi. Maybe Anya? Bit of a different one but I dont see why not :)

Have to be honest and say I personally hate them all though- I actually love my full first name as it is!

I had an Uncle Zanna who was really Alexander.

I personally know two Alexandra's. Both go by "Aley".

There is a "Lexie" in the next office at work.

Anything but Lexi.

Ali and Lexi immediately come to mind. I would've said Alexa but Amazon Echo is a thing.

I knew a little Alexandra. Everyone called her Axie.

I'd make up a unique nickname to use both her beautiful names... Alvi

The Alexandra I know gets Alex, Al and Alya.
