Blake for a girl??

What do you think of Blake for a girl as it’s quite well known as a boys name! Not sure whether it sounds a bit too ‘masculine’ and confusing as a girls name?

What are your honest opinions on Blake Margot/Margaux?

or maybe the other way round and stick Blake in the middle? Thank you x

Margaux... that spelling... honest answer.... fucking awful. Like Margot though. Have a friend with a Margot.

Blake Lively is BEAUTIFUL. And this would be my association (so a very good one!!!)

The only Blake's I know in real life are boys (and pains in the arses).

Margot I love though (Good Life fan).
Please don't spell it Margaux though, it sounds like some kind of custard pudding.

I think Blake is lovely for a boy. For a girl, I prefer Margot/Margaux. Margot/Margaux Blake sounds lovely and very cool.

I'm not particularly keen on either, but Margot is better than Blake, which is too surnamey and explosive.

I actually really like Blake for a girl, it’s not a name I’ve thought of as unisex but I love it 🙂, however I do also like Elliott for a girl too (Scrubs is to blame for that!)

I don’t like it as a boy’s name but I really hate it for a girl. Margot is lovely. Stick with that.

Margaux/Margot is much better. I particularly like the Margaux spelling.

Blake is horrid anyway, and sounds really stupid on a girl.

Margot is OK but please spell it that way.

I think it works fine for a girl in the same way James can work for a girl but obviously it's a boys name.
Margot is also lovely

I think it's fiiine, bit boyish. Prefer Brook.
Makes me think of the beautiful (before and after nose job) Blake Lively - plus she has a great surname. And the boyfriend of Amy Winehouse.

Adding this to say that come to think of it the only reason I think Blake sounds fine for a girl is because of the Blake Lively association. But when I imagine hearing someone call Blaaake to your average kid/teen/adult female on the street it's a no from me.

Margot Blake much better.

Worth baring in mind that Margot may be on the rise in the same way that Gigi and Dua are because of the celebrity connections. Plus I see Margot mentioned on here a lot atm.

Iiminthesouth, please don't generalise in regards to council estates. In my experience "chavs" and people similar are not confined to council estates. I live on a private estates and there are plenty of what you call "chavs".
