Hi all,

We like the name Kacey/Kacie for our DD, but can't decide which spelling looks better. I'm leaning slightly towards one of them but I'd like to hear other people's thoughts first. We know that Casey is the traditional spelling but we much prefer the other two so don't suggest Casey please Smile

So out of Kacey and Kacie, which do you like better?

Thank you x

Thanks so much for all your responses so far. Interesting, I was leaning more towards Kacie, but after reading these comments I think I'm swaying towards Kacey now! It's so hard to choose!

Katie/Katy isn't an option for us, it's too common and we just don't really like it.

Quite like @Porridgeoat's suggestion of Acacia with Casey as a nickname, that's something for us to think about.

Please keep the responses coming Smile

I know a Kacie, awful name though, it has a certain vibe.

ZebraKid71 · 20/09/2020 21:29

Kacey is a very established and popular spelling for girls in the states so I'd go with that. I prefer the Casey spelling but would assume male.

Firebird83 · 20/09/2020 21:44

The one I know is a Kaci. I think Kacey looks better though.

may3120 · 20/09/2020 22:57

Kacie. It looks softer and more feminine to me.

AfterSchoolWorry · 20/09/2020 23:00

🤣🤣🤣

Pieceofpurplesky · 20/09/2020 23:03

I've yacht a Kacey, a Kaci and a Kacei (not a typo)

Pieceofpurplesky · 20/09/2020 23:04

Obviously the yacht is a typo! I've taught. It's late

foxyroxyyy · 20/09/2020 23:05

Neither vs neither?!

Ideasplease322 · 20/09/2020 23:12

Casey - please don’t spell it with a k.

wigglywormx · 20/09/2020 23:15

We have a Kacey.
Be prepared for people spelling it Casey, and questioning your spelling though.
I didn't like the Casey way either - I thought the K and c in the middle looked more girly. Also all the names which rhyme with it, would never be spelt with an s in the middle.

I know a mum with a daughter called Cadie. She would have gone for the full Arcadia in hindsight.

@AfterSchoolWorry Grin

somethinglike7820 · 20/09/2020 23:47

@AfterSchoolWorry @HopeClearwater I meant common as in, widely used, i.e. high up the popularity charts... not common as in class wise if that's what you thought I meant? Otherwise I don't see what's funny.

Normally the -sey ending is female and the -sie ending is male (Lesley/Leslie)

newnameforthis123 · 20/09/2020 23:51

Casey.

CandyLeBonBon · 20/09/2020 23:54

Kaysee

Strokethefurrywall · 20/09/2020 23:57

Kacey for sure. Far better than Kacie and infinitely more interesting than Katie.. 😁

movingonup20 · 20/09/2020 23:57

@AfterSchoolWorry

I know, the irony.

Gigglr · 21/09/2020 00:00

Cassandra nickname Cassie or Casey?

Kanaloa · 21/09/2020 00:08

I really don’t see the issue with the name Kacey/Kacie. It’s not ridiculously outlandish or silly as a name. It’s pretty, not too common but not too unusual. People often suggest names like Nancy or Clementine on here which I personally really dislike. However, I see that there isn’t really anything wrong with them, it’s just a difference of taste.

I don’t understand what’s meant by ‘it has a certain vibe’ either. I can’t think of any bad associations with the name Kacey. Unless you mean it’s similar to Lacy/Macy which are quite popular.

HollowTalk · 21/09/2020 00:14

🤣🤣🤣

That has really made me laugh, too.
BackforGood · 21/09/2020 00:18

Would you be kind enough to explain to me why spelling a 'known name' the way it is normally spelled, isn't an option ?

I don't understand why you would want to make life difficult for your own child ?

Genuine question. I just never understand it.

zigaziga · 21/09/2020 07:21

Kacey definitely

SeanCailleach · 21/09/2020 08:24

@BackforGood I love different spellings it makes my life so much easier. I have to rapidly learn and recall dozens of kids and when they are all called Ellie and Jake it is a total headspin.
