So we have had a long hard road to become pregnant and I would love a name which in some way reflects how much joy we feel to have this baby. I've been looking at names which mean happiness, light, love, hope etc.

One name I've come across for a girl and I LOVE is Bliss. I once knew someone who was called Bliss and I thought it was such a cool name, she really suited it.

But I don't know if I'm brave enough! So, Mumsnet, give it to me straight. Is it lovely or awful?

Bliss sounds porn star-ish. Just awful.

I disagree with this. I think the name we chose could be classed as brave and I was nervous about responses, but it’s been loved so far. We always get compliments on her name

I say go for it OP. Kids will always find ways to tease if they wanna tease.

What about Freya? She was the Norse god of fertility 😁

I like it. I know someone who has twins they are Bliss & Blossom they are in their late teens now
