What do you think of the name Rose- nickname Rosie

Too old fashioned?

What middle names would you choose for Rose?

Gorgeous name. I think a longer syllable middle name would go well with Rose.

Rose Francesca.
Rose Olivia.
Rose Maria (sounds a bit like Rosemarie-a)

Notapheasantplucker · 09/09/2020 09:37

It's nice, I like it

Pantheon · 09/09/2020 09:39

I think it's a classic, lovely name

chunkyrun · 09/09/2020 09:42

Very twee

Firebird83 · 09/09/2020 09:47

Lovely

Firebird83 · 09/09/2020 09:48

Rose Rebecca would be my choice

FippertyGibbett · 09/09/2020 09:48

I always think of it as a middle name rather than a first name.

Unseeliequeen · 09/09/2020 09:50

Beautiful, timeless name, not old fashioned.
With that said:

Rosie is #14 atm &
Rose is #56

Rose is an extreeemely common middle name.

I've noticed Rosa and other Rose names mentioned a lot on mn lately so it wouldn't surprise me if there's a rise in Rosa/Rosalie/Roseanne and Roses etc.

inappropriateraspberry · 09/09/2020 09:51

Very popular as a middle name! My child and several of her friends have it! But it is nice and I don't know anyone with it as a first name.

Spam88 · 09/09/2020 10:02

I love it but DH wasn't a fan unfortunately!

ellentree · 09/09/2020 10:18

I really like it - it is a beautiful name

yesterdaystotalsteps123 · 09/09/2020 10:20

I cry every time I read Annie Rose is my little sister! Rose is a lovely name

LassoOfTruth · 09/09/2020 10:21

I love it. Wanted it for my Dd but it really doesn’t go with our surname sadly.

unimaginativeusernamehere · 09/09/2020 10:23

It's nice. I think I prefer Rosalie / Rosa though.

EssentialHummus · 09/09/2020 10:27

I prefer Rosa but it's lovely. As others have said, very popular as a middle name.

LadyCatStark · 09/09/2020 10:28

My niece is Rose. It’s lovely and she doesn’t know anyone with her name. All the other children on the family have very common names and are always First name Initial at school.

BeMorePacific · 09/09/2020 10:37

I really like Rose as a 1st name. Always think it’s a filler as a middle name.
I love Rosie too.
xx

TheChristmasPrincess · 09/09/2020 10:52

Beautiful, classic and traditional.

I am so sad that Rose has become the fashionable filler/middle name when it is beautiful all on its own.

IndecentFeminist · 09/09/2020 10:56

We have a Rose. She loves it and won't be called Rosie.

We know a few friends with it as a middle name, none as the first.

ImaSababa · 09/09/2020 11:01

Rose is gorgeous as a first name.

PuntoEBasta · 09/09/2020 11:01

I love it. It is heavily used as a middle name but less common as a first name. I wanted it for DD but Welsh DH vetoed it as too quintessentially English.

ouchmywrist · 09/09/2020 11:36

I have a Rose. I get bored with things very easily but I still love her name.

greenteafiend · 09/09/2020 13:50

It is a great name---classic, beautiful, not over used (as a first name).

DaisyDoo1919 · 09/09/2020 14:04

Beautiful name- maybe a longer middle name like Eleanor etc depending on surname.
