If I like the name James....

Any other suggestions? It's the only boys name I like at the moment and I feel like I should consider more options.

I am tempted by Edward as I love the name but not sure how I feel about Ed.

I am thinking the middle name would be William (named after my grandad and I like the fact that it is a middle name so it's not shortened as I'm not keen on Will).

I'm just over 8 weeks so have a while to decide!

You have the same taste as me - in fact you’ve mentioned both my DS names in your OP.
Edward can also be Ted, Eddie or Woody.
Other names I like are Joseph and Stanley.

My son is James so I love it and think it's a great name. We shorten it to Jim / Jimmy.

His middle name is Thomas and if my second was a boy she'd have been Frederick.

I love William too.

@ktsc89
I love the name 'James'...Plus, it has very little 'tease ability' to it.

It is hard to make a silly rhyme out of it... {EG 'Artie' }

James is a Classic name, and doesn't really date.

I have a James though, so am biased! {a very easy baby}

It can get shortened to ''Jim'' or ''Jimmy'' which sounds a bit grandad like, but I'd say ''Go with it!'' 🙂

William..... Lovely name too...

My biggest regret re names was not giving DS a middle name {Surname long} so thought we'd leave it blank for him to choose his own middle name.. but of course it doesn't work out like that.

Both grandparents were called 'William'..

My brother James was always shortened to Jimbo.

I like Henry, Arthur, Jonathan (and Nathan), Phillip, George, Lewis and Reuben.

James was my boy baby top choice. Other contenders were Matthew, Nicholas, Robert (ideally nn Bertie) or Henry.

James William is great though, a very "sound" sort of name.
