Don't love any girl names

Hi,

Due in about a month with a little girl and struggling to find a name. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?

My top choice at the moment is Jasmine, but I don't know if I like it enough. I don't like the shortening to Jazz or the Disney connection - but I do like the flower and scent connection.

Other names we have considered and currently discounted:
Isabella - we are both teachers and OH has a bad connection.
Wren - maybe not very feminine and a bit divisive.
Autumn - I kind of like it, but it's also my least favourite season and don't think child is likely to have the colouring to suit it, if that makes sense.
Florence - OH likes it, but just sounds a bit frumpy to me still. Quite a lot of them at the moment I think too.
No names ending in ie/y as it will be too matchy with our son.
Just really struggling to find a name I do love!

For a boy this time it would have been either Reuben or Barnaby.

Thanks for any suggestions or new perspectives!

Our little girl is called Lola, we always get such lovely comments when we say her name.
I'm so pleased we called her that :)

I know what you mean about time of year. My DS was due in Feb and (before I knew he was a boy) was disappointed he wouldn't be a Summer or an Autumn but I've decided if we do have another baby I will probably go for Summer regardless of the time of year as I just love the name and I don't think it matters too much.

For example if I was 8 months pregnant now, it's been an unusually gorgeous long hot summer so choosing to name a child Summer would make sense as the end of your pregnancy would have been in the hot weather so that would be your frame of mind leading up to her birth. I don't think it has to be season specific personally, you could also just be naming a child after your favourite season which is fine.
I actually think it's possible to overthink these things. I've talked myself out of favourite names before due to rules that most people wouldn't give a second thought to anyway.
Anyway all gorgeous names good luck choosing Smile
