For a baby boy. What do you think about Robin?
Thanks.

Nice.

doodlejump1980 · 29/08/2020 20:42

Love it.

Swarskid2184 · 29/08/2020 20:43

Lovely name 😁

FippertyGibbett · 29/08/2020 20:43

Batman and Robin comes to mind, along with Robin bastard.
Sorry.

Tlollj · 29/08/2020 20:44

My ds middle name. And now my dgs middle name. I like it.

TruffleMama · 29/08/2020 20:44

Lovely name.

Something to consider.. it'll likely get shortened to Rob when he's older.

GoingBackTo505 · 29/08/2020 20:45

Not a fan myself. To me it's one of those names that's a bit feminine for a boy and a bit masculine for a girl. It's not offensive though.

Suzi888 · 29/08/2020 20:45

I’m not a fan

Riv12345 · 29/08/2020 20:50

I like Robin for a girl

Grumpy19 · 29/08/2020 20:53

@FippertyGibbett robin bastard made me laugh!!
I'm unsure because of the shortening to Rob which I'm not so keen on.
Boys names are really hard for me and DH!

Nice. I know two with this spelling, both girls, but I think it’s common enough as a boys name to be unisex.

Stats for 2019 are approx
Robyn-800
Robin(m)-400
Robin(f)-100

Oneandabean · 29/08/2020 20:55

My cousins name, robin bastard is quite apt 😂 not a fan of it, and it always gets shortened to rob.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 29/08/2020 20:57

Love it

namechange5575 · 29/08/2020 20:57

Hmm. Very lightweight, delicate, femininely pretty, like the bird (although I know they are actually thuggish). I don't like it for a boy.

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 29/08/2020 20:58

Love it Star

Yes, I was trying to think of how to put how I feel about it, but this sums it up quite well. It's not a strong name. I much prefer Robert.
SisterAgatha · 29/08/2020 21:07

Oh I feel bad because it’s a nice name but it’s my grandads name and he was a terrible human being.

I agree it’s better for girls too.

AllPlayedOut · 29/08/2020 21:18

Robin is lovely.

Echobelly · 29/08/2020 21:19

I really like it and you don't hear it much any more.

namenerd · 29/08/2020 21:21

So handsome with some nature connotations which I adore ❤

Toilenstripes · 29/08/2020 21:21

Wet for a boy. Okay for a girl.

TempsPerdu · 29/08/2020 21:22

I like it for a boy or girl - think it’s genuinely unisex - but there will inevitably be posters who come on to describe it as ‘wet’.

Personally I quite like the fact that it’s not an overtly macho name, and don’t really get the obsession with boys’ names having to be strong and rugged (and girls’ names having to be pretty).

TempsPerdu · 29/08/2020 21:23

Ah I see someone best me to it with the ‘wet’ comment. Smile Agree with pp that the nature connotations are nice.

grumpypug · 29/08/2020 21:29

Love Robyn for a girl. Don't mind Robin for a boy.

MondeoFan · 29/08/2020 21:29

I like it, much prefer Robin over Robert say
