Something to consider.. it'll likely get shortened to Rob when he's older.

Not a fan myself. To me it's one of those names that's a bit feminine for a boy and a bit masculine for a girl. It's not offensive though.

Yes, I was trying to think of how to put how I feel about it, but this sums it up quite well. It's not a strong name. I much prefer Robert.

Oh I feel bad because it’s a nice name but it’s my grandads name and he was a terrible human being.

Wet for a boy. Okay for a girl.

I like it for a boy or girl - think it’s genuinely unisex - but there will inevitably be posters who come on to describe it as ‘wet’.

Personally I quite like the fact that it’s not an overtly macho name, and don’t really get the obsession with boys’ names having to be strong and rugged (and girls’ names having to be pretty).

Ah I see someone best me to it with the ‘wet’ comment. Agree with pp that the nature connotations are nice.
