For a baby boy. What do you think about Robin?
Thanks.

I like it. I know two Robins and neither ever had their names shortened.

CountFosco · 29/08/2020 21:30

Love it. Also love Robert.

ReturnofSaturn · 29/08/2020 21:37

Robin was our pick for a girl but we had a boy instead.

itsjakeandamy · 29/08/2020 22:17

I don't normally like names that are unisex or have been changed from one to the other (like Sydney for instance) - but Robin is one that I really like for a girl but not for a boy. It just seems really feminine.

FaintlyMacabre · 29/08/2020 22:51

My Robin loves his name. He is a sweet and gentle boy but definitely not ‘wet’.

Firebird83 · 30/08/2020 00:35

Love it. I much prefer it for a boy than a girl.

IdblowJonSnow · 30/08/2020 00:39

I really like it but prefer it for a girl.

micc · 30/08/2020 07:59

I really like this name and it's on my list too!! I like Robby and Rob..
I think it's really sweet sounding name, but not overused. I think I've met one person called Robyn in my life and that's it.

MikeUniformMike · 30/08/2020 12:22

I know 3 adult Robins. One of them is really good looking, the other two are fine. I don't know any female Robyns but a schoolfriend's sister used it for her DC.

daisypond · 30/08/2020 13:07

I don’t like it. It’s short for Robert. I’d use Robert with Robin for short, if you must.

Unseeliequeen · 30/08/2020 14:07

I know more girl Robins than boy Robins and far more bird Robins. Either way honestly it's a good name (boy or gal) like it.

florascotia2 · 30/08/2020 16:32

Prefer Robert, but Robin is a perfectly good name. Very long and exciting history - remember Robin Hood!

gingergiraffe · 30/08/2020 22:09

I love the name. If we had had a second daughter she would have been called Robyn. I think I prefer it for a girl though Robin for a boy is also fine. A sound name for either sex.

Tillygetsit · 30/08/2020 22:20

Much better than Robert. Makes me think Robin Hood. That can't be bad, can it?!

SemperIdem · 31/08/2020 01:16

I like Robin for a boy more than I do for a girl. It’s tedious seeing all nature names become “girls names” lately.

babynamelover · 31/08/2020 01:55

I don't like it. I like softer sounding boys names but not this one.

AlwaysLatte · 31/08/2020 02:20

Lovely name!

MikeUniformMike · 31/08/2020 06:56

The only thing I have against Robin is that R names are very popular at the moment and he could end up in a class of several Romans, Reubens (some Ruben or misspelt as Rueben), Rowan, Rory, Ruan, Rohan etc

chilledteacher · 31/08/2020 07:16

I have a (just) 2 year old Robin. He's just started referring to himself in the 3rd person by name...except he can't say R yet so for now he's Bobin. Suits him. Grin

FaintlyMacabre · 31/08/2020 08:53

I used to call mine Robin Bobbin when he was small (and sometimes still do!). When he was about 2 I overheard him introduce himself to a fellow toddler ‘my name’s Robin. Robin Bobbin’. Grin
He also called himself Rin, which we used as a nickname for a while.

foxtiger · 31/08/2020 22:51

I only like it for a boy, and I'm always pleased when someone uses it for a boy.

ellenpartridge · 31/08/2020 23:05

I quite like it. Seems to be quite popular where I am amongst the preschool age group.

halcyondays · 31/08/2020 23:09

I really like it for a boy but not a girl.

Raindancer411 · 31/08/2020 23:19

It's my sons name (and I have just had a little girl who we have called Wren)

Geranium01 · 01/09/2020 17:21

Lovely for a boy! I think it's recognisable and classic, without being common and over used.
