Rio or Cruz

Honest opinions please! Rio or Cruz for a boy. My DP really hates them but I really like them... I like unusual but not really out there names. So names that you just rarely hear of, would love some other suggestions if you have any

If your DP is unsure, it doesn't matter what we think. He needs to love it too.

Flynn translates across all ages reasonably well, but I'm not a fan of picking a name because it's 'cute'. Yes, you're naming a cute baby. That will one day be a 45 year old man.

I'm Mexican and I'll never name a child Cruz because we see it as a burden to carry. I'm not sure how it became popular as the connotation is quite negative.
There are better names for a gorgeous baby.

Flynn is nice. Phin or Finn is too. Phineas is great if you want a long version.

Chavvy to me.

I know a lovely little lad called Rio so I don't mind it too much.

Emry looks a bit like you missed the S off Emrys.

Both make me picture an Hispanic gangster type in an American series/film. The type that would be fiercely loyal and protective of their loved ones but wouldn't think twice about killing anyone else who looked at them the wrong way. They'd wear lots of jewellery and be covered in tattoos.

What about Theo?

Sounds similar to Rio for you but more of a classic me for your partner. Most people have heard of it and know how to spell it but it's not overly common (not in top 10 names etc) either.

I like Rio. Flynn is good too.

What about Malachi?
