Harriet is my favourite, Clara and Juliet are also great. I don’t love Dorothy or Tabitha but I don’t hate them either. Lovely list!

Runkle · 16/08/2020 23:04

Harriet or Clara

africanantelope · 16/08/2020 23:20

Love Juliet. Classically beautiful x

Marlena1 · 16/08/2020 23:23

Love Clara, Juliet would be second.

Heh1991 · 16/08/2020 23:28

Harriet, Clara and Juliet I love the other two I don’t!

jakeyboy1 · 16/08/2020 23:29

I love Clara if I had another rig would be on my list! There is something nice about Tabitha despite the cat connections. Also like Juliet.

Graymare · 16/08/2020 23:30

In order:
Dorothy (second the suggestion to consider Dorothea)
Tabitha
Harriet
Clara
Juliet

alexdgr8 · 17/08/2020 00:16

tabitha sounds like a cat.
harriet is good, also dorothy.
not so keen on clara, sounds like a pretentious claire.
juliet could get teased, where's romeo...or you did for him.
would you consider Lucy. simple but sounds bright and cheerful.
all the best.

TheRosariojewels · 17/08/2020 07:09

I would rate them in this order

Tabitha
Juliet
Clara
Dorothy
Harriet

ParsleyPot · 17/08/2020 07:21

This order for me:

Tabitha
Juliet
Clara
Harriet

No to Dorothy

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/08/2020 16:03

I like Harriet, Clara and Dorothy - Dorothy is my favourite

Not keen on Tabitha as I dislike Tabby. I like Talitha though nn Tallie

Not a fan of Julie, it seems such a serious name

GoshHashana · 17/08/2020 16:35

Dorothy - Nice. Good nicknames.
Harriet - Try-hard.
Tabitha - Lisping posh girl.
Clara - Good strong name.
Juliet - Wishy-washy.

Subbu12 · 17/08/2020 17:35

Tabitha , dorothy it's good Juliet also nice clara, Harriet not that much.

Flappingflamingo · 17/08/2020 19:44

Harriet is one of my absolute favourites but unfortunately my husband didn't like it. Tabitha would be my least favourite, not sure about my in betweens

percheron67 · 17/08/2020 19:49

My largest tortoise was named Tabitha. I really like the name.

Ellmau · 17/08/2020 19:49

I like Juliet the best.

CatteStreet · 17/08/2020 19:49

Dorothy - nice, but prefer Dorothea
Harriet - didn't used to like this but it has grown on me. Good choice
Tabitha - not keen
Clara - best of the bunch
Juliet - not keen and can't really understand its popularity tbh

snowone · 17/08/2020 19:53

I like Clara the best from your list. In my opinion Harriet was a bit over used a few years ago. Not overly keen on Dorothy but probably wouldn't mind Dotty or Dot for a NN. Don't really like Tabitha and Juliet is okay!

MockneyReject · 17/08/2020 19:55

I love Dorothy/Dot/Dottie/Dolly, but ever so slightly prefer Dorothea, which gives the additional option of Thea.
I am a fan of The Wizard of Oz and also of both Dorothea Lange and Dolly Parton, though!

CaviarAndCigarettes · 17/08/2020 20:08

We have a Harriet, Nicknamed Hattie.

Her name gets lots of compliments and I haven't met another one locally

nogoodsolution · 17/08/2020 20:13

OP, Dorothy is the one I was going to say I wasn't that keen on. However, the main thing is for you to choose a name which you love. My DD has a name which is derided on MN for being "posh". However, it's my favourite name of all time ever (for a girl), and I am glad every single day of DD's 16 years that I chose it. She has come to terms with it, too. Grin

nogoodsolution · 17/08/2020 20:15

Actually, OP, Dorothy has the advantage that it's relatively unusual. The other names you mention were all very well represented at my DD's junior school (all girls, so lots of girls there). Hattie was particularly popular.

MikeUniformMike · 17/08/2020 20:54

Dorothy - 1, love Dot as a nn
Harriet - 2, love Hattie as a nn
Tabitha - no
Clara - no
Juliet - don't like Jools so a no
