Etta or Ada?!

Hi Everyone
Our baby girl is a week old and we are undecided on a name. We love both Etta and Ada but cannot decide between the two! We are however settled on the middle name Maeve. Hoping to get some opinions on which you lovely people prefer and why?

Etta Maeve
Or
Ada Maeve

Thanks so much

They're both lovely but for me, Etta is nicer.

Ada for me. Such a lovely name.

MountainPeakGeek · 15/08/2020 18:55

Definitely Etta. It's lovely and I really don't like Ada, sorry.

MikeUniformMike · 15/08/2020 18:56

Not keen on either.

Etta for me, although both are lovely

Congrats on your baby Smile

Also not keen on either.

DramaAlpaca · 15/08/2020 19:11

I'm not mad on either, but as I really dislike Etta I'd go for Ada.

THATbasicrebelBITCH · 15/08/2020 19:12

Etta, but both are lovely names! Congratulations!

LetItGoHome · 15/08/2020 22:17

Etta by a long way ❤️

DustbinTimberlake · 15/08/2020 22:20

Etta is my favourite!

DillonPanthersTexas · 15/08/2020 22:24

Popular name in the Basque Country

TippledPink · 15/08/2020 22:28

Etta for me!

Deardonkey · 15/08/2020 22:29

Etta is the nicer of the two by a long way.

QuentinQuarantino · 15/08/2020 22:32

Ada is so lovely. Vintage, pretty, underused.

Etta = Basque separatist group.

MrsEricBana · 15/08/2020 22:33

Etta for me in any case but I also think it goes better with Maeve as Ada Maeve has a very strong A sound on both names. Having said that, middle name rarely spoken in everyday life so more important how first name - surname sounds.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 15/08/2020 22:35

Etta unless you live somewhere where the local accent tends to replace ‘t’ sounds with glottal stops, in which case Ada.

LynetteScavo · 15/08/2020 22:39

I love the name Etta!

But be warned that names I really like shoot up in popularity.

userabcname · 15/08/2020 22:49

I like both but I'll vote for Etta!

FindingNeverland1 · 15/08/2020 22:59

Ada for me.

Is Etta short for something?
