Looking for a middle name for Sage. It's hard to find a name that flows well. Would love to hear what you think! Smile

Hmm... 'amazing school'. Do you mean 'alternative'?

GrinYes it is, as a matter of fact. How very perspicacious of you.

Love Juliette OP! Very pretty.

Also like
Sage Clara
Sage Isabelle
Sage Marie

I think Sage would work better as a middle name, and would flow better.
Eg Willow Sage vs Sage Willow
Georgia Sage vs Sage Georgia
Emily Sage vs Sage Emily

LittleBearPad · 15/08/2020 09:04

Aubrey is not a girl’s name

😂

No, not 'perspicacious', more 'somewhat predictable'.

In 2020 Aubrey ranks the 48th most popular name for a girl and the 1,325th most common for a boy. @LittleBearPad It's a gender neutral name but is a lot more common for a girl then a boy.

In 2020 Sage ranks the 269th most common girls name and the 514th most common boys name.

Names such as Rosie, Vanessa and Jane are less common baby names then Sage in 2020.

I think people are being mean about Sage! I don’t see why it is any more odd than other planty names like Willow and Ivy.

I used to know a male Sage and his name never struck me as ‘out there’. And the first association I have with the name is ‘wisdom’ rather than the herb. And I do love the herb and have a massive sage plant in my garden!

I like :
Sage Olivia
Sage Elizabeth
Sage Amelia
Sage Evangeline
I think it sounds best with a name beginning with a vowel.

sunyla · 15/08/2020 10:27

@Whatthebloodyell Evangeline is a favourite of mine. Thank you. Smile

I’d much rather hear a little girl called Sage than another Evie-Mae or Amelia/Lily/Olivia or similar variations.

Riv12345 · 15/08/2020 13:39

Actually I dnt think you need a middle name with sage
I think it's just lovely how it is x

EnidMatilda · 15/08/2020 13:43

I really like Sage as a first name for a little girl.

Sage Avery
Sage Agnes
Sage Nina
Sage Elodie
Sage Astrid
Sage Coraline
Sage Erin
Sage Penelope
Sage Enid

DaisyCrazyLazy · 15/08/2020 13:54

What are your grandparents names? Or people who you might want to remember or name her after?

mrsmummy1111 · 15/08/2020 14:12

@ProfMcGonigle

Sage Anunyin
Howl
SheWranglesRugRats · 15/08/2020 18:38

It means well behaved / goody two shoes in French. It might fly in the US or Oz but not if she will be on a school exchange to Cherbourg in fourteen years time.

SummerNamechangeHappened · 18/08/2020 09:59

Sage Neptune

minnieok · 18/08/2020 10:01

Accounts? Sorry it's the name of a herb or accounting package not a child.

minnieok · 18/08/2020 10:05

@sunyla

Sage accounts are worldwide, one of the most common packages used. Why not choose a classic name and use it for a middle name.

SnowdropFox · 18/08/2020 11:58

I love Sage op! I do lean towards natural names though. Like it on a boy or girl.
I'm in the UK and it does make me think of the software but that doesn't put me off. Much prefer it to the Emma's and Isla's that are everywhere in my area.

Sage Juliette is lovely
I also like Sage Eleanor and Sage Melody. Like the longer mns with Sage.

Jessabean · 18/08/2020 12:35

Hadn't heard it before but I think Sage works well as a pretty nature themed name for a girl though other posters are right it's not commonly used in the UK - surprised it's used as a boys name tbh though - comes across quite effeminate to me. Also even if you were UK based think it's a bit far fetched that they'll be plagued with sage committee comments for the rest of their life tbh more likely just references to the herb but the fact your in Australia and it's more normal in your area makes it even less of an issue & I'd say go for it.

It kind of has that nature woodland type vibe to me so maybe something with a similar feel but less out there. Think a longer name and something beginning and/or ending in a vowel would work nicely.

Sage Evelyn
Sage Elizabeth
Sage Eliza
Sage Amelia
Sage Rowena
Sage Morwenna
Sage Adeline
Sage Harriet
Sage Genevieve
Sage Aveline
Sage Aurelia
Sage Flora
Sage Matilda
Sage Emmeline
Sage Laurelei
Sage Persephone
Sage Elodie
Sage Audrey
Sage Hermione
Sage Robyn
Sage Willow
Sage Juniper (maybe a bit out there as a combination)

IndiaMay · 18/08/2020 12:48

I know a few Sage's. Guarantee everyone crying out 'its unusual, it's not a name' has a child with one of the following names: Jack, Oliver, Ethan, Evie, Ella, Amelia because god forbid you deviate from those names Hmm

SummerSummerSummertime · 19/08/2020 10:39

Sage Excel ?

uqueen · 21/08/2020 16:01

Sage Louise

Danniiaddy · 22/08/2020 01:36

Sage is a strange choice for a name IMHO but each to their own!
A 3 syllable middle name would be best.
Elizabeth, Ophelia, Maria

Lelophants · 22/08/2020 19:24

Lavender?
