I love freya and willow the best out of the girls names and all the boys names are lovely.

I like all your names but these ones the best:
Aila
Freya
Willow
Ailsa

Ewan
Lewis

Spidey66 · 10/08/2020 21:49

I like Willow and Elsie from the girls names, and Ailsa is Ok.

I like Ewan. Alec is Ok but I prefer Alex(ander). I'd worry he'd get Smart Alec at school especially if he was a bright kid.

bravotango · 10/08/2020 21:56

Really like Ewan. All your girls names are nice. What about Iona or Eilidh?

HD98 · 10/08/2020 22:04

Thanks for the comments so far - really appreciated 😊

@bravotango I like your suggestions! Eilidh is actually my sister's name - I love it and it might be incorporated somehow. And I was actually going to be called Iona but my friend was named that first 😁

Ailsa - lovely
Willa - I'm not keen
Elsie - nice
Vaila - I'm not keen

Ewan - great name
Fraser - great name
Alec - ok but I prefer Ewan/ Fraser
Lewis - bit dull/ overused

HD98 · 10/08/2020 22:16

Thanks for the suggestions, they're all nice and different!

I also posted on another thread about Erland for a boy. Thoughts on that appreciated too?

DramaAlpaca · 10/08/2020 22:18

I don't like Elsie or Willa, but all the rest are good choices.

Not keen on Erland though, I have to say.

123Dancewithme · 10/08/2020 22:39

I like Erland and Vaila or Alisa best.

123Dancewithme · 10/08/2020 22:39

Ailsa sorry, autocorrect!

MyPetPegasus · 10/08/2020 22:50

I love Willa!

It's been a while since I lived in Scotland, so these may be really common, but:

Eilidh
Flora
Mhairi

Hamish
Fergus
Innes

whattodo2019 · 10/08/2020 22:53

I love Willa and Fraser - gorgeous
I also live Douglass for a boy

bravotango · 10/08/2020 23:11

Another fave of mine is Ruaridh - so many lovely Scottish names.

Greywind1523 · 10/08/2020 23:15

I love Aila, Willow and Alisa.

Really like Ewan but prefer the Euan spelling.

Pixilicious · 10/08/2020 23:17

ISBN111 · 10/08/2020 23:25

Ailsa and Alec

Some great suggestions too! Agree that Douglas and Hamish are great names too

howlathebees · 10/08/2020 23:27

sweetnosugar · 11/08/2020 11:06

Really like Elsie!
For boys how about Lachlan?

HotDogHotDiggityDog · 11/08/2020 11:26

Girls names I love Aila, Ailsa and Vaila.
Boys names I like Ewan and Fraser, Lewis is nice but very popular where I am (north Scotland).

PaundryLouder · 11/08/2020 11:28

Morwen
Alba

Magnus
Innes

mylittleavalon · 11/08/2020 12:19

Ingrid, Haida, Astrid, Morven, for a girl? Like Fraser, Ewan from boys list

MikeUniformMike · 11/08/2020 12:42

Aila - no. It's nothingy. Ailsa is stronger
Freya - it's been overused and I don't like Frey
Willow - I like it more than I used to, but not keen
Ailsa - see above
Willa - no.
Elsie - no
Vaila - no

Ewan - yes
Fraser - yes, but would he be Fray or Frase? Not keen on those
Alec - yes
Lewis - not keen

I'd pick Alec and Ailsa.

daisypond · 11/08/2020 13:14

Aila - too bland.
Freya - quite popular but nice.
Willow - no.
Ailsa - yes, a lot better than Aila.
Willa - yes.
Elsie - bland, twee and popular. But it might be a name that has a different vibe in Scotland.
Vaila - yes, OK.

Ewan - or Euan. Yes
Fraser - yes.
Alec - yes, fine.
Lewis - OK-ish.

I’d probably pick Ewan and Alisa.

Erica? Dougal?
