I am 37 weeks pregnant, do you prefer Poppy or Isabelle? Surname will be Baker. Thank you x

Both are overused.

I like Poppy very much and like Isabel but not Izzy.
I think I would look for something else. Sorry, my pp was somewhat terse.

beckyohecky · 24/07/2020 20:43

I love Poppy!

DramaAlpaca · 24/07/2020 20:44

I prefer Isabelle to Poppy, by a long way, though I find the spelling a bit fussy and like Isabel better.

I don't like Poppy at all, it's very cutesy.

chocolatecake1234 · 24/07/2020 20:45

Isabelle, I can see a 30 year old Isabelle more than a 30 year old Poppy.

I do love Poppy though, we used it as a middle name

OneKeyAtATime · 24/07/2020 20:53

Poppy. Not keen on Isabelle

pinkpinecone · 24/07/2020 20:54

Isabelle but she may get called Izzy

123Dancewithme · 24/07/2020 20:55

Isabelle

looloo247 · 24/07/2020 20:56

Poppy. I don't mind Isabelle but really dislike Izzy, shortening to Bella could work though

Sunshines123 · 24/07/2020 20:57

Poppy 😊

KoalasandRabbit · 24/07/2020 21:20

I prefer Isabelle but there are a lot of them. You could use Poppy as a middle name or other way round.

foxtiger · 24/07/2020 21:34

Poppy over Isabelle, but possibly Isabel over Poppy (or it would be a very close thing).

MrsGilly1 · 24/07/2020 21:35

Poppy X

turquoisebaby · 24/07/2020 21:35

Poppy for sure.

ellenpartridge · 24/07/2020 21:36

I really like both but think Isabelle Baker scans better. Could put Poppy in the middle.

Marlena1 · 24/07/2020 21:41

Isabelle!!

SquashedFlyBiscuits · 24/07/2020 21:47

Poppy definitely. I have a friend called Poppy who is in her 40s and she loves her name. She has a very responsible job and Poppy doesn't come across as cutesy on an adult at all. No one really seems to shorten or nickname her either.

Intastellaburst · 24/07/2020 21:51

My son is starting school this year and his teacher said the two reception classes have four Isabelle’s in between them! If popularity doesn’t put you off think I do prefer it to Poppy but they’re both nice.

Doilooklikeatourist · 24/07/2020 21:54

Isabelle . A classic name and is always popular for the simple reason it's a lovely name
Poppy , if born in November 11th

HollyBen · 24/07/2020 21:56

I prefer Isabelle of the 2. I much prefer Isabella though

OhTheRoses · 24/07/2020 22:01

Poppy scans better with Baker than Isabelle. Although Poppy Seed bread springs to mind.

I'm not sure either are ideal. Personally I think something a bit more individual with Baker would be better: Leonora, Olympia, Imogen, Marianne, Xanthe

Rainbowqueeen · 24/07/2020 22:02

Poppy

Rainb0wDrops · 24/07/2020 22:03

These were my top 2 girls names too!

I know they're both really popular but strangely in all the baby/toddler groups/nursery children we haven't met another Isabelle or Poppy at all.

Grace, Eden, Ivy & Matilda have been the most popular girls names. I've met lots of all of those names over the last couple of years.

So choose the name you like and don't overly worry about popularity.

birchtree23 · 24/07/2020 22:07

Poppy since my daughter is called Poppy Bell 😀

Starlight39 · 24/07/2020 22:08

I prefer Poppy
