Where I live there are quite a few Blues - fathers are Rangers supporters.

There is even a Bleu but it's pronounced Blue

Ridiculous "name"

I knew a female blue many years ago (I was a child and she was an elderly lady).

It isn't a name for my taste.

It just sounds a bit 'bleurgh'.

My personal taste in names is pretty classic. But I don't think Blue is awful. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if I met one (admittedly living in London means we see a more interesting range of names). I really love Gray as a name so Blue or Red don't seem completely outlandish. I can't think of other colour names I like though.

If you're Welsh you'd pronounce it Blew. Be warned.

Your child needs to get a job in future and if they are in some professions their CV will go in the bin. So they won't be able to become Chairperson of Tescos, IBM or Natwest because their CV didn't even make it past the first stage.

Red is nicer, and won't cause pronunciation issues if you go to Wales.
