Dorothy nn Dottie or Elsie middle name for both would be Rose.

Elsie blends in a bit too much will all the Ella/Emilia/Ellie/Evie/Emily names!

Dorothy by a mile, it's elegant, classic and glam. I also love Dottie or Dolly as diminutives.

Elsie isn't in the same league, it's dowdy and twee at the same time. Not good.
